“Instant” withdrawal claims usually describe the payment rail, not the sportsbook’s own review process that happens first, which is why two bettors using the same method can have very different experiences. Here are the fastest sports betting payouts at top US sportsbooks.

Hard Rock BetInstant bank transfer (AZ, VA) or PayPal/Venmo elsewhereReal-time where available; 24–48 hours elsewhere3–5 business daysUp to 5 business days

These are processing times after a withdrawal is approved, not from the moment you hit submit. bet365’s Apple Pay is the only method here that’s genuinely instant with no caveats. DraftKings and FanDuel get close via Play+ and retail cage cash-outs, and PayPal is the most reliable fast option everywhere else. The bigger factor for all of these, though, is the review window before that clock even starts.

Tip:
The Real Bottleneck Isn't the Payment Method. It's the Review Window.

Before any sportsbook releases your money, it runs an internal review. This is separate from how long PayPal or your bank takes to move the funds, and it’s the part most comparison pages leave out.

That review window is typically 24 to 72 hours, longer on your very first withdrawal at a given book, and longer again if you’re pulling out a large amount or you deposited with a different method than the one you’re trying to withdraw to. A $50 PayPal withdrawal from a verified, repeat user can genuinely be quick. A $4,000 withdrawal on someone’s first week with a new app is going through a manual look regardless of what button they pressed.

A few things stack the odds against you specifically:

  • Unverified accounts get held up. Submit your ID documents right after signup, not when you’re trying to cash out. This alone is the single biggest cause of a slow first payout.
  • Withdrawing to a method you didn’t deposit with usually doesn’t work. Most books only release funds back to a method already tied to your account, so plan your deposit method with your eventual withdrawal in mind.
  • Weekends and holidays freeze bank rails, not digital wallets. A Friday-night bank transfer request typically doesn’t move until Monday. PayPal, Venmo, and Play+ generally keep processing regardless of the day.
  • Bigger withdrawals get more scrutiny. Requests approaching five figures are more likely to trigger manual review at every operator on this list.

Payout Speed by Sportsbook

1. bet365

bet365’s own U.S. help center lists Apple Pay withdrawals as instant, with a $10 to $30,000 range, and that’s the strongest verified claim on this whole page. No other sportsbook here makes that promise about any method without qualifiers attached.

  • Apple Pay: instant, per bet365’s official withdrawal terms
  • Debit card, PayPal, Venmo, online banking: generally 1 to 4 hours once cleared, though give it up to 24 hours to be safe
  • No paper check option for U.S. withdrawals

Worth knowing: bet365 typically routes withdrawals back to whatever you deposited with, so an Apple Pay withdrawal usually requires an Apple Pay deposit on file first.

2. BetRivers

BetRivers runs on a proprietary system called RushPay that approves roughly 80% of withdrawal requests instantly, which makes Play+ the standout method here.

  • Play+ card: often instant to within minutes, thanks to RushPay
  • PayPal: generally under an hour to about 24 hours
  • Standard ACH/online banking: 2 to 5 business days
  • Paper check: 10 to 14 business days, the slowest on this list

Worth knowing: BetRivers’ PayPal support has been inconsistently reported by users. If you’re choosing BetRivers specifically for PayPal withdrawals, confirm it’s live in your state before signing up.

3. DraftKings

DraftKings has the widest range of any book on this list. Play+ and cash at one of its six cage locations are the fastest true options, often clearing within the hour. Everything past that gets progressively slower, and the gap between the fastest and slowest method here is bigger than at any other operator we looked at.

  • Play+ card or cash at cage: within about 1 hour, cage locations are limited to select states
  • PayPal, Venmo: same-day is common, though multiple sources put the outer edge at up to 2 business days
  • Apple Pay: around 1 business day
  • Standard ACH/online banking: up to 5 business days
  • Paper check: 7 to 14 business days depending on amount

Worth knowing: the “DraftKings is fast” reputation depends almost entirely on which method you pick. Standard online banking, the option most people default to without thinking, is actually its slowest digital method.

4. FanDuel

FanDuel discloses up to a 48-hour review window on withdrawal requests, and that window applies no matter which method you choose. Once a request clears that review, most digital methods move quickly.

  • Cash at a partner retail sportsbook: within about 1 hour, the fastest true option if you’re near one
  • PayPal, Venmo, debit card, Play+: typically 1 hour to 24 hours once approved
  • Standard ACH/online banking: 2 to 5 business days
  • Paper check: 7 to 10 business days

Worth knowing: that 48-hour approval window is disclosed by FanDuel itself and applies to every method, including the fast ones. A PayPal withdrawal that “processes in an hour” can still mean a two-day wait in total if it’s your first one.

5. BetMGM

BetMGM’s Play+ card is its standout, landing withdrawals in around 6 hours in most reporting. PayPal is the most consistent digital option after that. Public reporting on the BetMGM Apple Pay withdrawal speed is inconsistent across sources, so we’re not repeating an “instant” claim here that we can’t stand behind.

  • Play+ card: around 6 hours
  • PayPal: generally under 24 hours
  • Debit card: 1 to 3 business days, despite deposits on the same card being instant
  • Standard online banking/ACH: 1 to 3 business days
  • Paper check: up to 21 business days
  • Wire transfer: up to 5 business days

Worth knowing: BetMGM’s debit card deposits are instant, which leads some players to assume withdrawals work the same way. They don’t. Budget 1 to 3 business days for a debit card payout.

6. Fanatics

Fanatics’ PayPal and Venmo withdrawals are the fastest digital option here, with recent testing putting them at 1 to 4 hours once cleared, well ahead of the up-to-48-hour window Fanatics discloses in its own terms. The catch: despite supporting Apple Pay for deposits, Fanatics does not currently support Apple Pay as a withdrawal method.

  • PayPal, Venmo: 1 to 4 hours once cleared
  • Debit card: 1 to 5 business days
  • Standard bank transfer: 1 to 3 business days
  • Paper check: 7 to 14 business days
  • Apple Pay: deposit only, not available for withdrawal

Worth knowing: if you fund your Fanatics account with Apple Pay expecting to cash out the same way, you’ll hit a wall. Deposit with PayPal or Venmo instead if fast, hands-off withdrawals matter to you.

7. Hard Rock Bet

Hard Rock Bet’s standout is a newer real-time bank transfer feature, powered by Nuvei, that’s rolling out state by state and confirmed live in Arizona and Virginia so far. Outside of that rollout, digital wallets are the most consistently fast option.

  • Instant bank transfer (Nuvei): real-time, currently confirmed in AZ and VA
  • PayPal, Venmo, Play+: typically 24 to 48 hours
  • Standard ACH: 3 to 5 business days
  • Cash at a casino cage: usually within 24 hours
  • Paper check: up to 5 business days

Worth knowing: you’ll see “instant Apple Pay withdrawal” claims for Hard Rock Bet elsewhere, including on CBS’s own site. More detailed, recent sourcing doesn’t list Apple Pay as a withdrawal method at all, only for deposits, so we’re not repeating that claim here.

Fastest by Payment Method

PayPal is the most consistently fast option across all of these sportsbooks, generally landing within a few hours of approval and never slower than about 24 to 48 hours anywhere on this list. It’s also the most widely supported digital wallet among these platforms, unlike Apple Pay, which has real gaps and inconsistencies depending on the operator.

Play+ prepaid cards are the fastest option at three of these seven books. BetRivers’ RushPay system gets Play+ withdrawals out often within minutes, and DraftKings and BetMGM both beat PayPal by several hours through Play+ as well. If you’re deciding between opening a Play+ account or sticking with a debit card, Play+ is worth the extra setup step for regular bettors at any of the three.

Standard bank transfers (ACH/online banking) are the slowest digital option at every operator here, running 1 to 5 business days depending on the book. Treat this as your backup, not your default, unless you’re moving an amount too large for other methods.

Paper checks remain the slowest method across the board, from 7 business days at the fast end to as long as 21 at BetMGM. bet365 doesn’t offer checks at all in the U.S.

How to Get Paid Faster, Regardless of Which Book You Use

1

Verify your identity immediately after signup.

Don’t wait until you’re trying to withdraw. This is the single biggest lever you control.

2

Deposit with the method you plan to withdraw with.

Most sportsbooks only release funds to a method already on file.

3

Make a small first withdrawal early.

Even $20, to get the account past its first-withdrawal review before you actually need the money.

4

Avoid submitting large withdrawal requests late Friday or on weekends.

Especially if you’re using a bank-linked method. Digital wallets like PayPal and Venmo aren’t affected by this.

5

Use Play+ where it's offered

BetRivers, DraftKings, and BetMGM all pay out faster through Play+ than through PayPal.

Fastest Sportsbook Payouts FAQ

bet365 has the only method on this list, Apple Pay, confirmed as instant by the sportsbook’s own official terms. BetRivers is close behind thanks to its RushPay system, and DraftKings and FanDuel aren’t far off either if you can use Play+ or a retail cage location.

“Instant” usually refers to how fast the payment rail moves once your withdrawal is approved, not the sportsbook’s internal review time before that. That review can take anywhere from a few hours to several days, longer on a first withdrawal or a large amount.

No. Fanatics accepts Apple Pay for deposits, but withdrawals through Apple Pay aren’t currently supported. Use PayPal or Venmo instead for the fastest Fanatics payout.

PayPal is the safest bet across these books, typically arriving within a few hours once approved. If you’re a regular at DraftKings or BetMGM, a Play+ card will usually beat it.

No, none of these charge a fee for standard withdrawal methods. Wire transfers are the exception, and any fee there typically comes from your bank, not the sportsbook.

First withdrawals almost always go through extra identity verification, regardless of the method or sportsbook. Completing verification right after you sign up, rather than waiting for your first cash-out, avoids this delay entirely.
