Canada just got one step closer to a significant win in its sports betting future. The Safe and Regulated Sports Betting Act, or C-218, went into effect on August 27 and now betting on single games, fights, races, and exhibitions can be legalized by individual provinces. It only took a week for C-218 to be granted royal assent after the Senate passed the new Safe and Regulated Sports Betting Act on June 22, 2021. It took a while for legislators to warm up to the idea of sports betting on a larger scale. Still, once it was decided that they would alter instead of abolishing particular literature in 207(4)(b) of the Criminal Code, things moved at an exponential pace. In just the first six months of 2021, almost all of the efforts to legalize single-game sports betting took place.

Betway Mobile App Review
Betway has not been in the United States very long but has received extremely high praise in other countries for its spectacular mobile app. It utilized all of the positive aspects of its mobile app in different countries and maximized its first impressions in the states. Betway has all of the “icing on the cake” features that other big-time sportsbooks have, including a cash-out feature, live betting, and user interface simplicity.

Cash Out
Like a few other sportsbooks, Betway offers a cash-out option to help both the bettor and the sportsbook. I think this option generally benefits the bettor a bit more, which is why I’m so high on it. This is a beneficial feature because bettors can hedge their bets and make sure that in the case of a long-shot parlay, they don’t have to lose everything. Usually, this feature is used when there have already been several legs that have hit on a parlay.
Live Betting
Live betting is a commonality amongst most sportsbooks at this point, but the effectiveness of live betting within the referenced sportsbooks can undoubtedly vary. I like the live betting feature with Betway because it is fast, efficient, and doesn’t glitch. There are some other sportsbook apps that don’t have that luxury and therefore, can be problematic at times. Betway consistently provides a seamless experience for live betting and other unique features that make it highly desirable.
One-Game Parlay
This feature is a small one, but still, something that can make your life all the more simple. There is a little button you can check when placing a bet called “one-game parlay.” This feature blocks out other options and allows you to string together multiple bets within one particular game. Sometimes, even the simplest of features on a sportsbook can make all of the difference. This is certainly one of those instances.

I truly am sorry to make this my future bet for this Ontario betting article, but unfortunately, I see no way around this. Kyle Lowry is likely on his way out of Toronto this off-season, and without him, its anchoring leader, this could be a devastating season. Although Toronto was able to secure the fourth pick in this year’s draft and will probably come away from it with future star Jalen Suggs, I don’t believe that will be enough to replace the loss of Lowry immediately. Besides, the Celtics, Nets, Knicks, and Sixers will all make the playoffs next year. The Raptors will probably not make the playoffs, but maybe it will be a good start for a rebuild.

2021 was a massive year for the progression of the legalization of sports betting in Canada. In June, royal assent was granted for bill C-218, and on August 27, it went into effect. February 25, 2020: Bill C-218 is first introduced in legislation in the House.
April 30, 2021: The Senate experienced the first reading of the new bill with the revisions of 207(4)(b) of the Criminal Code.
June 22, 2021: The Senate passed the bill without asking for any further revisions on it.
June 29, 2021: Royal Assent was granted for Bill C-218.

Summary
Betway is a solid option for a sportsbook given its long, respected history in many different countries. It has a long list of sports to bet on and betting types to curb every prospective bettor’s thirst. Betway has spent a lot of money in mastering its user interface and simple navigation. It needs to work on its reach in the United States, but it is working actively on that. Additionally, Betway needs to eventually beef up its support options as it continues to expand in multiple different countries across the world. Sportsbooks with phone support have a leg up on other competitors because they are able to reach clients with less tech-savvy.
