Apollo adds more brands
Apollo Entertainment, which had its Luxury Casino approved the previous week, adds three more apps to the Alberta portfolio.
The first, Captain Cooks Casino, offers a variety of celebrity-themed slot games, with licensing deals with UFC and legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather.
The second, Casino Classic, offers exactly what the name suggests. There are online variations of table favorites such as blackjack and roulette, plus poker and progressive jackpots in the millions.
Finally, Golden Tiger Casino, has themed slots and the traditional Vegas-style table games, but adds an international feel with European favorites like baccarat and Asian staples like sic bo and Andar Bahar.
Skill on Net launching four Alberta online casinos
Skill on Net, based in Malta, had four gaming platforms approved.
The most familiar to Canadians is Play Ojo, which is aggressively promoted through television advertising aimed at Ontario players who can already legally use regulated iGaming sites. Alberta will be just the second province to launch licensed iGaming outside of lotteries, though the unregulated market likely sees hundreds of millions worth of business from Canadians every year.
Play Ojo has live table games and slots, but its selling points are the lack of wagering requirements and the refusal to impose maximum win limits.
Skill on Net is also introducing Megacasino, Slots Magic and Spin Genie to the Alberta market. Megacasino will have live table games, live game shows and slots. Slots Magic focuses on the slots demographic but also includes links to table games.
Spin Genie offers slots along with a variety of roulette and blackjack options.
Trillium aiming for Canadian feel
The final approval of the week went to Trillium Ventures’ Powerplay app.
Though Trillium is headquartered in Malta, it advertises Powerplay as a platform that is uniquely targeted towards Canadian users.
It has sports betting as its main feature, with a wide ranger of options from the MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL to international sailing races and water polo. There are slots and table games, as well.
