Week 7 of the NFL saw another top pick go down, the Houston Texans, as that now accounts for three straight weeks in which the largest spread of any game saw the favorite lose outright. Three weeks ago it was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, two weeks ago it was the Los Angeles Rams and this past week it was the Texans. If that trend continues, Week 8 survivors might want to avoid either Jacksonville or Cincinnati – the largest favorites on the week at 10-points.

Jacksonville Jaguars (-10 vs. Indianapolis Colts)
Jacksonville is rested off a bye and rolling behind Trevor Lawrence with Indianapolis limping in on a three-game losing streak (2-5) after shipping out starters Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner in apparent 2027-mode moves — add a banged-up Colts pass rush and secondary, and this looks like the week’s easiest double-digit cover.
Cincinnati Bengals (-10 vs. Tennessee Titans)
Joe Burrow and a Cincinnati offense averaging 27.2 points per game (4th in the NFL) and converting 51% of third downs face a Titans team that’s dropped six of seven and ranks 31st in scoring at just 15.4 per game — Tennessee’s defense has no answer for this kind of volume, making the Bengals’ number the safer of the two big home favorites this week.
New England Patriots (-7 vs. Miami Dolphins)
The Patriots head to Miami to face the Dolphins, a place they historically struggle at but won’t scare off survivor pools for Week 8. The touchdown spread is one of the largest of the week’s, but Miami is coming off its first win of the season with a divisional victory last week against the Jets.
