Florida Gators 2026 College Football Preview, Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

Florida enters the 2026 college football season looking to rebound after a disappointing 4-8 campaign last year. The Florida Gators begin a new era under first-year coach Jon Sumrall, one of the most sought-after hires during the offseason coaching cycle.

A major storyline this offseason is the overhaul on offense. Florida brought in former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner, along with quarterback Aaron Philo, giving the program a completely different offensive outlook entering 2026. The Gators also face a difficult stretch against the Texas Longhorns, Georgia Bulldogs, and Oklahoma Sooners that could ultimately define their season.

In this preview, we’ll break down Florida’s national championship odds, SEC title odds, Heisman Trophy candidates, and season win totals while evaluating whether the Gators can take a major step forward during Sumrall’s first season in Gainesville.

Florida Gators 2026 College Football National Championship Odds

National Title Odds:

The Florida Gators are +6000 to win the National Championship. Considering the Gators went 4-8 last season, this number reflects optimism from the market that Florida can take a major step forward under first-year coach Jon Sumrall and an entirely revamped offensive staff.

There’s definitely some upside here, especially after the additions of offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner and quarterback Aaron Philo. Still, it’s difficult to fully buy into Florida as a true national title contender this quickly, given the roster transition and brutal SEC schedule awaiting the program in 2026.

Among the stronger value plays on the board, the LSU Tigers continue to stand out. LSU brings back quarterback Sam Leavitt after his College Football Playoff run last season. His fit within Lane Kiffin’s offense creates huge upside for the Tigers entering 2026. With one of the nation’s top offensive coaching staffs and a roster capable of competing with anyone in the SEC, LSU looks like one of the more dangerous teams outside the top tier of favorites.

Florida Gators 2026 SEC Championship Odds

SEC Title Odds:

The Florida Gators are +2500 to win the SEC, trailing teams like the Georgia Bulldogs, Texas Longhorns, Texas A&M Aggies, Alabama Crimson Tide, LSU Tigers, Ole Miss Rebels, Oklahoma Sooners, and Tennessee Volunteers in the conference futures market.

The number reflects optimism that first-year coach Jon Sumrall can engineer a quick turnaround after last season’s 4-8 finish. Florida also potentially upgraded the offense by bringing in coordinator Buster Faulkner and quarterback Aaron Philo, giving the program a higher offensive ceiling entering 2026.

Still, winning the SEC in Year 1 feels like a massive jump considering the depth of the conference and Florida’s difficult schedule. The Gators may improve significantly this season, but surpassing several established playoff contenders over the course of an SEC schedule is an entirely different challenge. Targeting their win total futures looks like the better move.

Florida Gators 2026 Win Total Odds

Win Total Odds:

Florida’s win total is currently at 7.5, juiced to the under at -155. Hitting the over would require a four-win improvement from last season, but that type of jump is not unrealistic considering the sweeping changes made throughout the program this offseason. At +130 odds, there’s enough upside to justify taking a shot on the over.

A major reason is the offensive reset taking place in Gainesville. The offensive upgrades give the Gators a much better outlook compared to last season. Even moderate improvement at quarterback and overall offensive consistency could swing several close games back in Florida’s favor.

There’s also value in buying low on a talented roster after a disappointing year. Despite finishing 4-8, Florida still recruited well and brought in enough portal help to raise the overall ceiling of the team.

The schedule will obviously be difficult, especially with stretches against teams like the Texas Longhorns, Georgia Bulldogs, and Oklahoma Sooners. Still, getting to eight wins feels attainable.

Bet: Yes – Over

Florida Gators 2026 Heisman Contenders, Odds

Aaron Philo, QB:

Quarterback Aaron Philo has the shortest odds to win the Heisman among Florida players, currently listed at +7000 odds. It was smart to pair Philo with Faulkner, since both worked together at Georgia Tech. This should ease the transition for Philo as potentially the new starting quarterback for the Gators.

With that said, he’s still an unproven player, so the +7000 price doesn’t have enough value to lay a bet. I like riding with one of the favorites in Arch Manning, especially since he has all the tools to be a star and showed improvement down the stretch last year.
