Raptors vs. Cavaliers 2026 NBA Playoffs Series Preview, Picks, Odds

This showdown between the No. 5-seeded Raptors and No. 4-seeded Cavaliers tips off Saturday afternoon at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, and it features two teams that saw some fairly significant shifts record-wise from their marks a year ago.

Raptors vs. Cavaliers Series Betting Analysis

At this time last year, the Raptors were already in the early days of their offseason, as Toronto found itself comfortably out of the postseason picture courtesy of its abysmal 30-52 record. The Raptors enjoyed a robust 16-win improvement during the 2025-26 regular season, as their faith in head coach Darko Rajaković to help author a turnaround was validated. Led by stellar, well-rounded seasons from Brandon Ingram and Scottie Barnes, Toronto proved adept at winning plenty of close games (+2.8-point differential) and generated an impressive 33-19 conference record.

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers didn’t get anywhere near their lofty No. 1 overall seed status from last season, when Cleveland boasted a 68-14 record to pace the East. Cleveland still produced a 52-30 mark, however, including a 27-14 home record. The most noteworthy headline emerging from the Cavs’ season was undoubtedly the trade for future Hall of Famer James Harden at the deadline, with The Beard proving to be an instantly seamless fit alongside fellow superstar Donovan Mitchell in the backcourt. Harden suited up for 26 games after his move to Cleveland and provided 23.6 points, 7.7 assists and 4.8 rebounds across 33.8 minutes per contest, along with a blistering 43.5% success rate from deep.

The regular-season series between the two teams culminated in a clean three-game sweep on the part of Toronto. Two of the Raptors’ wins came in Cleveland, where they notched 112-101 and 126-113 victories on Oct. 31 and Nov. 13, respectively. Barnes and co. then rang up their third win right before Thanksgiving, knocking the Cavs off by a 110-99 score at Scotiabank Arena. Mitchell didn’t play in the first game of the series, and he notably shot a paltry 34.2% in the other two games. Due to the early-season timing of the three matchups, the Raptors have yet to face the Cavs with Harden on the roster.

Injuries aren’t playing a significant role ahead of the start of the series. The one significant concern on either side is the status of Raptors starting point guard Immanuel Quickley, who’s managing a hamstring injury. The talented guard will have had the benefit of nearly a full week of rest leading into Game 1, so there’s a good chance he’ll be available.

The Raptors managed a solid 22-19 record on the road this season and averaged just 1.3 points per game fewer when traveling (114.0) than at home (115.0). Meanwhile, despite its poor showings north of the border against the Raptors, the Cavaliers were 25-16 overall outside of Rocket Arena and actually performed slightly better offensively in that split (119.9) than on their home floor (119.2). In terms of each team’s performance against the spread, Toronto was a markedly better performer (42-40), including 17-17 as an underdog. In turn, Cleveland posted a co-NBA-worst 33-49 mark against the number, including 24-42 in games in which they were favored.
