Texas A&M Aggies 2026 College Football Preview, Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions
The Texas A&M Aggies made the College Football Playoff for the first time last season, only to drop a 10-3 slugfest to No. 10 Miami (FL) in the first round.
The Aggies haven’t won a conference title of any kind since 1998 and the sledding certainly won’t be easy this year in the loaded SEC, but junior quarterback Marcell Reed is a legitimate Heisman candidate and Mike Elko’s squad has the weapons to compete.
They lost the majority of a strong offensive line last year and replaced that unit with four strong transfers from within the SEC, including tackles Wilkin Formby (from Alabama) and Tyree Adams (LSU). The Aggies also grabbed receiver Isaiah Horton from Alabama to replace top target KC Concepcion.
Texas A&M has new offensive and defensive coordinators, although OC Holmon Wiggins and DC Lyle Hemphill were both promoted from within the program. Beyond the transfer additions, the Aggies introduce the No. 7 recruiting class per ESPN, with bigtime defensive linemen coming in along with stud running back K.J. Edwards.

Texas A&M 2026 College Football National Championship Odds
National Title Odds:
After the consensus top-7 favorites to win the CFB Playoff Championship, sportsbooks have a few teams in the range of 20/1 odds, including Texas A&M. The Aggies are right there with fellow SEC powers LSU, Ole Miss, and Alabama, and are trailing conference favorites Texas and Georgia in terms of national title odds.
Texas A&M is a program that has long been in the shadow of bigger schools in the area, namely Texas. The Aggies last won a national title in 1939.

Texas A&M 2026 SEC Championship Odds
SEC Title Odds:
Texas A&M was one of the first programs to leave the Big 12 for the SEC, back in 2012. They had a tremendously successful debut season, then struggled for several years before going 8-1 in 2020, and the Aggies matched that by going 7-1 in SEC play and 11-2 overall last season, reaching a high of No. 3 in the AP and CFB Playoff polls.
The Aggies are tied with LSU and just a tick ahead of Alabama in terms of their odds to win the SEC this year. All three of those programs are firmly behind Georgia and Texas, two teams with loaded rosters and national title aspirations.
Georgia has won three of the past four SEC Championships and has made the Championship game in eight of the past nine seasons. Texas fell to Georgia in 2024 and is the favorite to win the SEC this year with quarterback Arch Manning leading the way.

Texas A&M 2026 Win Total Odds
Win Total Odds:
Odds are dead even on the Aggies going over or under a projected season total of 8.5 wins. The Aggies are talented, but are playing a Top-15 schedule in the nation with most of the top SEC teams on their docket.
Their schedule is backloaded with five brutal games against Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Texas, and three of those contests are on the road. The Aggies also travel to LSU and Missouri early in their conference schedule.
While they have the third-shortest odds in the SEC, the conference is simply too deep and balanced to take over on the Aggies win total.

Texas A&M 2026 Heisman Contenders, Odds
Marcel Reed, QB:
Marcel Reed is around 25/1 to win the Heisman, which puts him in the top 12 among all candidates and the top 10 among quarterbacks.
The elite dual threat from Nashville passed for 3,169 yards and rushed for 493 yards with 31 total touchdowns last year. Reed rushed for 71 yards in a premier showdown at Texas, but tossed two interceptions in that game and in the CFB Playoff against Miami. He will have to show more poise against top-tier teams to contend for the Heisman this season.
