Best sportsbook promos reviewed

Grab the latest sportsbook bonuses and promotions before you place your next wager. Here are the top sportsbook promos reviewed.

Caesars Promo

Caesars Sportsbook broke the mold with a new welcome bonus of ten 100% profit boost tokens. New customers can enter the promo code LINEUPSDYW and then make an initial deposit of at least $10 and a single bet of $1 or more. They then receive the profit boost tokens, which they’ll have 14 days to use. The maximum additional winnings you can get per token is $2,500.  This is the promo with the biggest possible upside of any prominent American sportsbook. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best. Coming up with 10 winning bets over 14 days is a big ask for anyone.

Caesars Sportsbook has a clean and simple look. Making a bet is straightforward. It also has a robust betting menu; if you want it, it’s here. The Caesars Rewards program is also best in class, offering a chance to earn points to use for stays at Caesars resorts and locations.  Caesars also has a bevy of regular promotions, including a 25% daily profit boost on parlays of +1000 odds, profit boosts for basketball and Champions League same-game parlays, and bonus bets on your half-birthday.

Bet365 Bonus

Bet365 Sportsbook gives customers a choice when it comes to their welcome bonus.  You can enter the promo code LINEUPSBET and choose between a safety net of up to $1,000 or $150 in site credit when you place a bet of $5 or more, win or lose. There is good stuff in each. If you take the safety net and your first bet loses, you’ll receive a refund in site credit, up to a maximum of $1,000. The second choice is straightforward — make at least a $5 initial bet and get $150 in bonus bets to use over the next 30 days.  Which one is better? That’s up to you. If you’ve got a lock for your first bet, you could go for the safety net and try for a big score. If you want to play it a bit more safe, take the $150.  Bet365 is a data-driven site that is a haven for soccer fans and live betting enthusiasts. The interface could be a little better — some of the numbers can be small to read. We think the best promotion is the early payout feature. If the team you back goes ahead by five or more runs in baseball, boom, the bet closes and you win. For the NBA, it’s 20 points or more.

BetMGM Bonus

The welcome bonus at BetMGM kicks in if you lose your first bet. The self-styled King of Sportsbooks gives new customers up to $1,500 in bonus bets if their first bet doesn’t hit. To qualify, sign up using the promo code LINEUPS. This is clearly a higher maximum than the bet365 promo, but the bet amounts and number of bets are locked in. Wagers of $50 or more will get you five bonus bets (for instance, five $10 bets if you place a losing first bet of $50). If you go to the max and lose $1,500, you would get five $300 bets to use in a week.

Some bettors won’t like those restrictions and the time element.  BetMGM might be the best sportsbook out there, all things considered. The layout is great. The list of sports (Snooker? Rugby? Table tennis?) is amazing. The drop-down arrow under each event gives you more options.  From a promotions standpoint, BetMGM is a little thinner than most. It has an early payout option on Premier League games and a refer-a-friend bonus for $100 in site credit.

FanDuel Promo

FanDuel’s welcome bonus applies some pressure. New customers who bet $5 can get $250 in bonus bets, but only if that first bet wins. So bet wisely.  FanDuel is a great place for new sports bettors. It has the customary full slate of sports and parlay options. It also has horse betting available under its FanDuel Racing brand and a special drop-down menu devoted to women’s sporting events.  The ongoing promotions include regular SGP/SGP+ profit boosts for a variety of sports, plus 100% profit boosts when you refer a friend and that person signs up using your link. FanDuel got its start as a fantasy sports site, and it’s still up and running. Customers can join in daily fantasy games, like picking a team of baseball players to combine for the most home runs in one day.

Fanatics Promo

Depending on the state, new customers at Fanatics Sportsbook can bet $30 and get $300 in bonus bets or get up to $1,000 in no-sweat bets, but there’s a time commitment involved. Bettors who choose the no-sweat bets option have to place a daily bet for 10 days on odds of at least -500.  Fanatics, which also operates a sports apparel and memorabilia company, offers betting only via app. There is no desktop betting site to review. It doesn’t have the depth of markets that some other US sportsbooks have, but it has appeal. The layout is smart and clean, and it has a great live betting section.  Fanatics has a refer-a-friend promotion where customers can get $80 in bonus bets. It also has the “Perfect 9” promotion: Bettors can make nine picks on that day’s games and win up to $500,000.

BetRivers Bonus

BetRivers doesn’t try to be as big as many of the other sportsbooks on this page, but it has a good welcome offer and intuitive layout. New customers can enter the code LINEUPS, and if their bet loses, they get a second-chance bet up to $500. They then have 14 days to use that bonus bet.  The sportsbook isn’t flashy, and sometimes it feels as if it’s an online casino with a sportsbook attached, but it’s better than serviceable. There are daily “house specials” with enhanced odds and easy parlay options.  BetRivers has daily NBA parlay insurance promos, meaning an NBA parlay of four-plus legs will qualify for a refund if it misses by one leg.

Hard Rock Bet Promo

New users in a handful of states are eligible for a welcome bonus of $100 back in bonus bets if your first bet doesn’t cash.  Hard Rock Bet maintains a small piece of the market, but it has great growth potential. It has soccer, basketball, and football bets available on its homepage and a large search bar at the top of the screen where you can find the team or player you are looking to bet on. It may not sound like much, but when there are literally thousands of possible bets each day, it can help cut through the clutter  We like what Hard Rock Bet has done with promotions for regular customers. You can get up to $100 in bonuses when you refer a friend, plus Hard Rock Bet has introduced a “flex parlay,” which is like a normal parlay but with the ability to customize your payout for every leg that hits. This means you can decide your profit if three legs hit, four legs hit, etc.

DraftKings Sportsbook

New users can claim three bonuses at DraftKings Sportsbook. First, when you create an account and make a deposit (minimum of $5), you’ll get a $50 bonus bet. That first deposit will also qualify for a 20% match up to $1,000. Then, if you place a first bet of $5 or more, you’ll get another $200 in bonus bets.  The DraftKings welcome bonus touches on a little bit of everything. However, to receive the max amount from the deposit match is a pretty big outlay.  DraftKings has almost become synonymous with sports betting in the US. Its “DK shop” offers branded merch, and the How To Bet tab offers a simple explanation of all the terms and ways to bet. More sportsbooks should do that.  The promo list is extensive. There’s a no-sweat home run promo available each day, parlay boosts connected to select games, and profit boosts on NBA games and golf events.

Top sportsbook promos by state

As of April 2025, the American Gaming Association lists 39 states (plus Washington, DC) where sports betting is legal. Promo offers can vary from state to state, especially when there are big events. For instance, Louisiana customers might have access to a special offer when the Super Bowl takes place there, or bettors in the state hosting the Final Four may see special perks.  Each state maintains a regulatory body that establishes laws for legal books in that state, along with producing revenue reports. We’ve broken down what sportsbooks are available in what state.

Missouri Sports Betting

The next state for legal sports betting will be Missouri. In November 2024, voters approved Amendment 2, legalizing online and in-person sports betting for casinos and sports teams in the state, plus two untethered online licenses.   The deadline for sports betting to launch is December 2025, but it is likely that once the licensing and operational process is completed, it could be ready for football season in the fall.

Best sportsbook promotions by sport

In March, you know what’s coming — March Madness — and the sportsbooks roll out special promotions and welcome bonuses tied to college basketball. In the fall, promos may lean toward football, leading up to college football bowl games and the Super Bowl.   Here are some of the best promotions for various sports at US sportsbooks.

MLB Sportsbook Promos

  • Dinger Tuesdays: Every Tuesday during the MLB season, FanDuel offers bettors a free profit boost token to place on home run bets for that day’s games. Think Aaron Judge will go yard? You can boost your bet using one of these tokens if he does.
  • Early payouts: Available at bet365 and others, the format is the same. If you make a moneyline bet on a team in an MLB game and that team goes up by five runs at any point, the bet is paid off in your favor, regardless of what happens later in the game.

NBA Sportsbook Promos

  • DraftKings profit boost pack: This DK promotion delivers a single-use profit boost token to use on a same-game NBA parlay of four-plus legs. Odds requirement of +300 or longer.
  • FanDuel hump day boosts and SGP boosts: Hump day marks the middle of the work week, and FanDuel celebrates with a three-part offer connected to the NBA on Wednesdays with a 50% boost on parlays and top-point-scorer parlays.
  • Cash back for first field goal: At BetMGM, bettors can get cash back if the player they picked didn’t score the first field goal of the game but did score the second.

NFL Sportsbook Promos

  • Weekly specials: Every sportsbook we have noted on this page has promotions connected to the NFL for Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football. Bettors will find weekly specials with enhanced profit potential based on individual or team performances.

UFC Sportsbook Promos

  • All-parlay profit boost: DraftKings ties this promo to big UFC events. Build a UFC parlay, same-game parlay or SGPx of four-plus legs and then receive a profit boost token to add to your bet to enhance any potential winnings. The total odds of the bet must be +300 or longer.

Golf Sportsbook Promos

  • Make the cut match: For big events like the Masters, DraftKings offers a bonus bet equal to your original stake if you bet on a player to make/miss the cut. The minimum odds are +100.
  • No sweat first-round leaders: Claim this promotion from FanDuel before a big PGA event and receive a no sweat token that you can drop on any first-round-leader bet. If your pick doesn’t have the lead at the end of the round, you’ll receive a portion of your bet in site credit.
  • Top Boosts at Online Sportsbooks

Existing users at online sportsbooks can take advantage of frequent odds boosts when betting their favorite sports. Odds boosts allow players to get better odds for the bets they want to place. Instead of betting on the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl at +300 odds, for example, an odds boost may allow you to bet on them to win it at +350 odds. Below are some current odds boosts at popular online sports betting sites.

How we rate sportsbook promotions

Much as you would consider a variety of factors when evaluating a game and placing a bet, we look over every piece of a sportsbook promotion before rendering a judgment. Here are the factors we examine:

Welcome Bonus

This is your sign-up perk. Usually the biggest bonus you’ll get from a sportsbook. Otherwise, it can vary in shape and style. Some will provide a second chance if your first bet misses out; some just hand you free bets after you make a first bet. The numbers matter. Obviously, $200 in bonus bets is better than $150, but you also need to be aware of any restrictions. Do those bonus bets arrive as one lump sum? Is there a time requirement?

Ongoing Promotions

Once you’ve acquired your welcome bonus and started making a few bets, you may still be able to claim some promotions. Options may help you increase your potential profits on specific bets tied to certain games and sports. It’s usually as easy as clicking “opt in” to qualify, and you can start to get profit boosts and parlay tokens.

Betting Menu

This means what you can bet on and how quickly the book posts your bets. There’s nothing worse than wanting to put down a bet on a big game and not finding it on the menu. American sports is still dominated by the big four: football (college and pro), basketball (also college and pro), baseball and hockey, but bettors may also want to wager on tennis, UFC fights, or international soccer. Whatever your sport is, we want the sportsbook to have that available.

User Experience

Sports betting should be a simple experience: Look at your screen, find some odds and make a bet of the amount of your choice. You shouldn’t have to scroll … and scroll … to find what you’re looking for. User experience means the ease of logging into a sports betting site and discovering what you’re looking for.

Customer Service

Hey, it happens — you get confused about a promo and are expecting a bonus bet to come through, or you have an issue with getting paid. When these types of things happen, you want your sportsbook to be responsive, whether that’s through an online chat or an email or a phone call. Sites with poor customer service don’t deserve your business.

How to claim your sportsbook promo

The process for signing up at a US sportsbook is fairly similar across the board. The big thing to know is that a betting site will require you to have geolocation software on your computer to verify that you’re in a state where the sportsbook is legal.  Once you have that in hand, the steps are as follows:

  • First, head to the sportsbook of your choice to sign up. Note any promo code if one is necessary to claim the welcome bonus.
  • Create a username and password that you will remember. Confirm your age.
  • Make an initial deposit through an approved banking method. Check to see if there’s a matching bonus for your first deposit.
  • Scroll over to the homepage and make your first bet.

Different types of sportsbook promos and bonuses

We don’t want to confuse you when talking about the different styles of promos and bonuses. Here’s a simple explanation of each.

No Deposit Bonus/Sign-Up Bonus

Sign up, create your account and immediately receive a bonus. Call it your very own signing bonus. No deposit necessary.

Deposit Match

Sportsbooks will offer to match a percentage of your deposit, up to a set maximum that can vary depending on the sportsbook. You’ll receive the bonus as site credit that typically has a playthrough requirement (the number of times that you need to wager the funds before they become withdrawable).

No Sweat Bet

A promo that kicks in if a bet you’ve placed — often your first bet — loses. The book will then provide a matching bonus bet or bets that you can use to place additional wagers. This type of promo may have a different name depending on the sportsbook (for instance, “second-chance bet”).

Bet And Get

Make a small initial bet and qualify for a bigger amount of bonus bets. For example, make a $5 bet at bet365 and get $150 in bonus bets. That’s all there is to it.

Odds Boost

This is where a sportsbook has a little fun. It tweaks or boosts the odds for a game or a prop bet, and if your wager wins, you’ll get more profit than you would otherwise.

Referral Bonus

Got a friend or two? Scroll over to the refer-a-friend link at your favorite sportsbook and send them an exclusive link where they can establish their own account at the same sportsbook. Both of you will often receive bonus bets to use going forward.

Leveraging sports betting promos to build your bankroll

All of these sportsbook promos have one thing in common. They can help you add to your account. Don’t be shy. Take advantage!

Easy wins for beginners using their sportsbook sign-up promo

  • Deposit match bonuses: Make an initial deposit into your account and the sportsbook will match that amount up to a certain percentage. Your currency is automatically multiplied.
  • Bet and get: Capitalize on your first bet by getting more bonus bets to use down the line.
  • Profit boosts: These offers can take a variety of forms. They can be connected to a game, a player, or a sport for that day. If you were already leaning toward a bet on that event or sport, why wouldn’t you use the boost opportunity?

Banking for sportsbook welcome bonuses

We live in a world where currency is increasingly electronic. Sportsbook players have bank accounts, PayPal accounts, debit accounts, credit accounts, and other options.

Online Sportsbook Deposit Options

  • Debit card: Enter your debit card number that’s linked to your bank account to make a deposit.
  • Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express): Use a credit card — limits may vary — to put money in your sportsbook account.
  • PayPal: Most platforms will allow you to use your PayPal account to place funds in your sportsbook account.
  • Skrill: This is an e-wallet that allows bettors to manage their own funds and make transfers securely.
  • VIP Preferred e-check: Customers can enroll in a VIP Preferred program offered at the sportsbook and link their bank account for transactions.
  • ACH bank transfer: Make a direct transfer straight from your bank account by providing the account number and routing number.
  • Wire transfer: This usually carries a significant fee, but it’s a method for transferring funds quickly and securely from your bank account to a new account. More often used for larger sums.
  • Sportsbook gift card: Sportsbooks also sell gift cards for various amounts that can be redeemed just like any other gift card.

Online Sportsbook Withdrawal Options

  • Apple Pay: This is the mobile payment service from Apple that lets users store and use credit cards as well as Apple Cash.
  • PayPal: The original digital wallet. PayPal is a third-party account that lets bettors receive and hold funds electronically.
  • Online banking: Don’t worry about the intermediary; have the sportsbook deposit the funds directly into your bank account.
  • Visa: Get your winnings put right back on your Visa card.

Sportsbook bonus & promo playthrough requirement

Many sportsbook promos come with a playthrough requirement. A playthrough requirement is the amount of times a player must wager on eligible games in order to be able to withdraw bonus funds. The DraftKings deposit match promo, for example, come with a 25x playthrough requirement. This means that for every bonus bet, one must have $25 in wagering activity in order to be able to withdraw funds. Not all bonuses have playthrough requirements. Make sure to check bonus terms and conditions to verify how much you need to playthrough any bonus bets.

Responsible gambling

Responsible gambling tools can include, but are not limited to, deposit and betting limits, self-exclusion policies and understanding the warning signs of gambling addiction. We all want you to enjoy your sports betting journey, but not at the cost of your friends, family or lifestyle.

Sportsbook Promo FAQ

What sportsbook has the best new user bonus?

It depends on what you’re looking for. BetMGM offersthe largest new user bonus via $1,500 first bet insurance.

Which online sportsbook is the best?

It isn’t easy to pin down just one sportsbook as being the best, but DraftKings and FanDuel are the perennial leaders in betting handles, and that says something. Caesars’s new platform, in partnership with William Hill, is making a strong run at the best user interface.

Does FanDuel offer a new user promo?

Yes, FanDuel offers bonus bets for all new users.

Can I claim multiple sportsbook promos?

Yes. Sportsbook promos are not mutually exclusive and there is no limit on the amount of sportsbooks one can sign up with. So long as you are of legal betting age, you can sign up with all sportsbooks available in your state.

What is the legal betting age?

Currently, all but five states require individuals to be at least 21 years old to bet on sports. In Montana, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Kentucky and Washington, the age limit for sports betting is 18 years old and over.

Can I bet on sports when visiting a state?

Yes, you do not need to be a resident of a state that has launched sports betting to place wagers. You must be within the state borders to place bets, even if you do not live there.

Can I bet on collegiate sports?

The short answer to this question is yes. Maine recently attempted to pass legislation that would not allow in-state collegiate betting, but it did not go through. Certain types of prop bets are not allowed, though.

Can I bet on sports from my phone?

Yes. Most sportsbooks have a free mobile app to download and create an account. As long as you are in a state where sports betting is legal, you can download sportsbooks and place bets. However, not every sportsbook is licensed in every state, though.

What is an offshore sportsbook & is it safe?

Offshore sportsbooks are sportsbooks that operate outside of US borders. They are not US-regulated sportsbooks; therefore, your funds are not protected, and protection standards often fall short.

Can I use PayPal to deposit and withdraw money?

PayPal is a banking method that a lot of sportsbooks use and should be available on most of them. However, some sportsbooks don’t use PayPal, and you will have to use other banking methods, such as credit and debit cards or ACH payments.

Are winnings on sportsbooks taxable?

Yes. Winnings on sportsbooks are fully taxable. However, you do have the ability to deduct losses. Your annual income determines your tax bracket, which you will pay on any winnings from your bets on any sportsbook.

Is Daily Fantasy Sports considered sports betting?

Daily Fantasy Sports are not considered sports betting as they were determined to be a “game of skill” and are legal in the United States of America and Canada. One important note is that you can deduct entry fees from your taxable winnings.
