Fresh off of a dominant run to the National Championship, Indiana is set to defend their conference title, jockeying with a top heavy Big Ten Conference who possess plenty of contenders capable of making a run to the championship. Come December 5th in Lucas Oil Stadium, two teams will battle it out with heavy playoff implications on the line, creating one of the more exciting races for the Big Ten title.
2026 Big Ten Winner Odds
In a time where continuity is as rare as ever, Oregon retaining a majority of their starters is a welcome sight to see, setting them up for immediate success heading into 2026. Dante Moore makes his return under center, one of the top contenders for the Heisman award while surrounded by a deep group of skill players and a stalwart offensive line.
Rivaling the Ducks near the top of the oddsboard are Ohio State, a Buckeyes team who also brings back one of the more efficient offenses in the nation. Should their defense be able to replicate last year’s success while integrating new pieces, then Ohio State will be able to weave through a grueling schedule and stamp their ticket to the conference championship.
Indiana on the other hand has far more question marks lingering over both sides of the ball, potentially bringing in a high amount of variance should their new additions struggle to gel together. Especially if Josh Hoover is unable to operate in Curt Cignetti’s system, potentially halting their progression on offense.
Moving down the oddsboard, Michigan and USC are on the outside looking in, lacking the talent that is needed to dethrone the top contenders. While USC’s defense has underwhelmed in years past, Michigan’s lack of skill players leaves them vulnerable to early outs, making both a pass to win the conference title.
Penn State is an intriguing long shot, getting the benefit of a very favorable schedule to help avoid any early setbacks while bringing in a whole new cast of players and coaches. At their current odds, consider sprinkling a wager on the Nittany Lions to win the conference title with intentions of hedging your ticket if they make it to the championship.

Piggy backing on Penn State, even with the Nittany Lions going through a complete overhaul, their favorable schedule will help keep them afloat. As of writing, Penn State is expected to be -7 or higher in at least nine games while a short favorite in their other three, making their over worth a small wager.
Speaking of difficult schedules, the Wolverines are poised to regress in Kyle Whittingham’s first year as their head coach, drawing the likes of Oregon, Ohio State, Indiana, and Penn State. With Bryce Underwood showing no signs of improvement, expect the Wolverines to struggle to keep pace with the top contenders and be held under their win total.
Michigan State is also expected to struggle this year with their win total listed at 3.5 while integrating a new coach and cast of players on both sides of the ball. While their future is potentially bright in regard to NIL, Michigan State’s lack of talent this year will make it near impossible for them to compete, resulting in another disappointing year for the Spartans.
As for Michigan’s arch nemesis, Ohio State is poised to make another run at the Big Ten conference championship, racking up double digit wins in the process. While their schedule is brutal on paper, the Buckeyes are still in a tier of their own, listed as a sizable betting favorite in 10 of their 12 games.

With plenty of familiar faces surrounding Moore, Ducks quarterback is in a favorable position to succeed from the jump, giving him the edge he needs to set an output too fast for the other top contenders to keep up with. A favorable schedule will also make it easier for him to stuff the stat sheet, drawing more media attention towards him in the process.
A pair of Buckeyes also sit near the top of the oddsboard for the Heisman, including Julian Sayin and Jeremiah Smith who are arguably the most dynamic 1-2 punch in the nation. While Smith is a generational talent at wide receiver, it’s tough to justify his short odds while heavily correlating to Sayin’s success, making both a pass for now.
Josh Hoover is an intriguing pick to win the award, taking the reins of the most quarterback friendly system, an offense that helped Fernando Mendoza win the award last season. Still, with too many question marks needing to be answered, pass on hoover for now until we see how he looks in Cignetti’s system.
If Rocco Becht is able to navigate Penn State through their favorable schedule, he is also worth a small wager to win the Heisman. Especially with the narrative factor on his side, playing a major role in the Nittany Lions ability to avoid regression after shipping off their former head coach James Franklin to Virginia Tech.

Even though the Big Ten is arguably the best conference in the nation, only a few names stick out as viable contenders to make the playoffs, including Oregon, Ohio State, and Indiana. Penn State’s schedule also makes them a candidate for the playoffs, yet just one loss during their favorable stretch may be the difference in them making it or being left out.
Michigan on the other hand is poised to miss out on the playoffs, making them a great piece to use for any playoff related parlays. At their current odds its best to skip this market and go after the conference winner odds instead.
