While the event is new, the Blue Monster Course at Doral is one of the most renowned courses in the PGA Tour’s history; it was a regular Tour stop from 1962 to 2016.
In this limited field of 72, value can be hard to come by, so it’s as important as ever to dig into the best sleepers to complete your DFS lineups and Cadillac Championship bets. FINDING VALUE IN GOLF DFS PICKS: CADILLAC CHAMPIONSHIP
To identify “value” for any given week on the PGA Tour, I find it’s best to understand the consensus key stat profile first. Then, take a stance on the elements of the tournament that may go overlooked. At the Cadillac Championship, recent form, driving distance, and SG: approach are consensus key areas factored into each player’s price.
From a sleeper perspective, I will emphasize the importance of comp course history at similar long and demanding venues. With the PGA Tour making its first return to Doral since 2016, we have limited data at our disposal, so naturally, the prevailing narrative will be to target long hitters with a proven history in difficult scoring conditions.

Kurt Kitayama
Kurt Kitayama will get his first career look at the Blue Monster course this week, and on paper, he profiles perfectly to attack it. Kitayama ranks top-15 in this field in terms of SG: Ball Striking, SG: Approach, and Driving Distance, all key metrics for such a long and demanding venue.
Kitayama has built up a great resume on comp courses to Doral as well. He won a Signature Event at the 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational, which is one of the top overall comp courses to Doral with its similar Bermuda layout, length, and presence of many threatening water hazards. Kitayama also proved he can score on a long, difficult, driver-heavy setup at the 2026 Masters, where he fired a 3-under opening round.
Kitayama is best on driver-heavy courses where he can flex his distance and long-iron approach advantage. He ranks 8th in the field in SG: T2G on courses over 7,400 yards. Fresh off a T8 finish at the RBC Heritage in his latest start, Kitayama is in top form heading into Miami.
Corey Conners
Sticking with the theme of course history in lieu of actionable recent data at Doral, Conners is a player who jumps out to me as an under-the-radar fit for this course. Conners ranks 5th in Comp Course History, a result of consistently contending at long and challenging venues like Augusta National, Bay Hill, Oak Hill, and TPC Sawgrass.
One of the most consistent ball strikers on the PGA Tour throughout his career, it’s not surprising to see Conners has elevated his game on the venues that demand precision off the tee and on approach. He is No. 1 in the field in terms of Proximity: 150+, so while he’s about average in terms of driving distance, he’s able to make up for it on the merit of his elite long iron play. Like Kitayama, Conners also ranks top-10 in SG: T2G on courses over 7,400 yards.
The Florida Swing was kind to Conners, finishing top-15 at both The Players and the Valspar Championship, so he should relish this bonus trip back to the Sunshine State.
Sudarshan Yellamaraju
Speaking of trending Canadians in a Presidents Cup year, this PGA Tour rookie continues to turn heads with his all-around play. The 24-year-old has already proven to be one of the top total drivers in this field, ranking top-15 in SG: OTT, Good Drive Percentage, and Driving Distance.
As a longer hitter, he’s best equipped to separate from the field on longer courses like Doral. His performance has backed that up too, with top-20 finishes already at the Cognizant Classic, Texas Children’s Houston Open, and Valeron Texas Open; each of these venues requires a driver-heavy approach.
It’s been Yellamaraju’s performance on shorter, positional venues that leaves so much room for optimism about his future as a complete all-around player on the PGA Tour. He’s also notched top-15 finishes at the Sony Open and The Players Championship this season. The No. 13-ranked player in my model this week, he’s priced as a great value as he prepares to take on the Blue Monster this week.
Alex Fitzpatrick
One of the biggest longshots in the field this week enters with wins in each of his last two starts. You don’t see that very often! Alex is not quite the bomber his brother is, and there’s nothing about his player profile that screams “Doral contender”, but there’s no denying his form at the moment.
Fitzpatrick proved he can withstand difficult scoring conditions by winning the Hero Indian Open at 9-under-par. And while he only has a handful of PGA Tour starts under his belt, he’s shown he can get up for big events, finishing T17 in his only career major start at the 2023 Open Championship.
Normally, we would expect a letdown spot the week immediately following a player’s first career PGA Tour victory. I don’t expect that will be the case for Fitzpatrick, however, as he’s afforded himself a new opportunity to prove he belongs on the PGA Tour, with or without his brother’s help. He’ll make for an appealing DFS leverage play and top-20 placement consideration at the Cadillac Championship.
