The 2026 Charles Schwab Challenge has reached its final round, as Eric Cole holds a one-stroke lead over Ryan Gerard. Can Cole hold on for his first career PGA Tour victory? Or will the pack of 18 chasers within five strokes of his lead find a way to catch him?
Looking ahead, we have new data at our disposal to adjust our approach in DFS formats before Round 4 gets underway on Sunday. Conditions have been perfect thus far, but Colonial CC should continue to firm up and pose a challenge for the leaders with afternoon tee times on Sunday. Ahead, we’ll look to identify the players who have shown they are most due for a Round 4 breakout.
Take a look at some of the best pillar players for Charles Schwab Challenge DFS contests and live betting opportunities.
DraftKings Showdown Golf Strategy
DraftKings Golf Showdown Golf is a one-round Daily Fantasy format in which players aim to construct the best-scoring one-round lineup while staying within the allotted salary cap. To identify value in Golf Showdown, it’s typically best to focus on buy-low opportunities on players who’ve shown uncharacteristically poor putting in the prior round. There is also an opportunity to find leverage by identifying favorable weather splits and players who are more likely to card birdies-or-better.
Round 4 Charles Schwab Challenge Showdown Pillar Plays
The birdies have not stopped in this second leg of the Dallas Swing. The 2026 Charles Schwab Challenge has played slightly easier than we’re used to seeing on this classic, positional venue, sitting just under 7,300 yards. Shorter, accurate drivers like Eric Cole, J.J. Spaun, and Russell Henley have set the pace this week, and a simple formula of hot irons and a hot putter may be all it boils down to for Charles Schwab Challenge contenders.
Identifying value players who check each of these boxes can provide valuable bonus points in the DraftKings Showdown format. The three players below will be foundational plays in my Round 4 Showdown lineups for these reasons.
Justin Thomas ($9,900)
Justin Thomas is no stranger to bookdoor Sunday charges up the leaderboard. He held the clubhouse lead for a majority of the afternoon at the PGA Championship in his most recent start, posting an impressive 5-under-par round on Sunday en route to a T4 finish. With Thomas currently sitting T12, just five strokes off of Eric Cole’s lead, it would not surprise me to see Thomas threaten the leaders this Sunday as well.
Thomas looked fantastic on Saturday, ranking top-4 in SG: TOT, SG: T2G, SG: BS, SG: OTT, and SG: APP. His round of 3-under-par was the 3rd-best round of the day, and he did so without much help from the putter (50th SG: P). If those putts start to fall on Sunday, he has sneaky win potential in an event that still feels wide open for the taking.
Johnny Keefer ($6,500)
Keefer remains a young, raw, and promising talent on the PGA Tour in his rookie season. The 2025 Korn Ferry Tour standout has had both of his top-10 finishes come in Texas this year (T3 at the Texas Children’s Houston Open, T9 at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson), and he’ll have a chance to make it a Texas tifecta on Sunday.
Currently T23 at 5 under par, it’s simply been his touch around the greens that have held Keefer back so far this week. He ranks 72nd out of 75 players through the cut in SG: ARG, but ranks top-25 in all other categories. Keefer is a standout ball striking talent, so from a ceiling outcome standpoint, it’s fair to look past the around-the-green shortcomings if he is able to hit a high percentage of greens in regulation in his final round.
Nico Echavarría ($6,300)
Only the tournament leader, Eric Cole, posted a better Saturday round than Echavarria, whose Saturday 65 catapulted him to T8 at 8-under-par for the tournament. Echavarria has been incredibly streaky in 2026, but when he’s on, he’s on. Through the first three rounds, he ranks 3rd in the field in SG: APP and 8th in SG: T2G.
The 2026 Cognizant Classic winner has already picked up three victories on the PGA Tour since 2023, so there’s no question about his ability to rise above the pressure of a late Sunday tee time. In search of his third top-10 finish this season, Echavarria stands out as the top value on the board in Showdown relative to his price.
Live Bets To Consider Entering Round 4
Tournament Matchup: Brian Harman over Gary Woodland
Best Available odds: -114
I was on Gary Woodland’s side in his Round 3 matchup against Ryo Hisatsune, where he coasted to an easy 10-stroke victory. A day later, however, I feel compelled to side against him with Brian Harman. Woodland continues to set himself up for success off the tee, but clearly does not have his best stuff with his wedges this week. He ranks No. 1 in the field in SG: OTT, but 69th in SG: APP. Approach play is paramount at Colonial CC, and if Woodland has struggled to cash in form short range in the fairway thus far, I’m not optimistic that will change on Sunday.
In Harman’s case, putting and accurate ball striking are the identity of his game, so I’m more optimistic about his profile fit for Colonial CC. He ranks 6th in the field in SG: APP, and is the player I trust to hole more putts in this Sunday matchup.
Tournament Matchup: Nico Echavarria over Michael Brennan
Best Available odds: +100
There is no doubting Michael Brennan’s talent as a premier ball striker on the PGA Tour, but I do have concerns about how his shoddy short game will hold up on a late Sunday afternoon in firm and dry conditions at Colonial Country Club.
Both players have been excellent thus far at the Charles Schwab Challenge, but Echavarria’s more well-rounded path and higher short game upside have me more optimistic that he can sustain his position in the top-10 in the final round in this matchup.
Best of luck with your Charles Schwab Challenge DFS lineups and bets!
