Philadelphia’s offense will mainly run through Edgecombe given the team’s slew of injuries, so he should see plenty of touches tonight. The rookie does not normally carry such a burden. However, Edgecombe may avoid being too overwhelmed from the increased responsibility because Denver lacks elite point-of-attack defenders and rim protectors. His athleticism should let him get into the paint where he can find shooters or cutters.
It’s worth noting that Edgecombe has averaged 4.8 assists per 75 possessions this season when playing without Maxey.

Philadelphia has scored 121.3 points per 100 possessions this season with Embiid, Maxey, and George on the court together. They complement each other well and pose issues for defenses at all three levels. However, the 76ers rarely see them active in the same contest because Embiid and George have missed a combined 76 games with more absences to come.
On the bright side, VJ Edgecombe looks like a future star. The most recent third overall pick is averaging 15.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game while holding his own defensively. Maxey and Edgecombe form one of the most promising long-term backcourts in the NBA.
It has also been a nightmare season for the Nuggets due to injuries. Their frontcourt was especially decimated for a significant chunk of games. As a result, Denver currently occupies the fifth seed and only possesses a 1.5-game lead over the seventh seed. Falling to the play-in tournament would increase its risk for an early exit and guarantee a matchup against Oklahoma City or San Antonio in the first round. However, the Nuggets are finally close to full strength and should secure a top-six seed barring more injuries. Jokic and company are too good to plummet.
