Brooklyn Nets at Portland Trail Blazers 3/25/19: Starting Lineups, Matchup Preview, Betting Odds
Brooklyn Nets at Portland Trail Blazers Preview
With 10 or fewer games remaining on the NBA schedule, both the Brooklyn Nets and Portland Trail Blazers seem to be safe bets to make it into the playoffs, but both teams will be looking to keep or improve their playoff seeding as they face off in Portland tonight.
The Trail Blazers are currently fourth in the Western Conference with a 45-27 record. They have won their last three consecutive games and are 7-3 in their last 10. They are one game away from the third place Rockets and only three games separate them and the 8th place San Antonio Spurs. The Nets are sixth in the Eastern Conference with a 38-36 record. They have won their last two games and are 6-5 in their last 10. The fifth place Boston Celtics seem too far to catch up to, but they are just a half-game ahead of the seventh-place Detroit Pistons.
This will be the second interconference matchup between the teams since they first met on February 21. In the game, the Trail Blazers won 113-99 behind Jusuf Nurkic’s 27 points and 12 rebounds. Allen Crabbe led the Nets with 17 points.

Nets Analysis

The Brooklyn Nets continue their road trip tonight as they look for their third consecutive win. After falling to the Clippers last Sunday, they finished their California portion of the road trip 2-0 with a 123-121 come-from-behind win over the Sacramento Kings and a 111-106 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.
“We lost a tough game against the Clippers; we won a tough game in Sacramento, and then we got by the Lakers,” forward DeMarre Carroll said. “We’ve just got to build off of this, take the momentum and get the next one in Portland.”
Carroll was a big part of Friday night’s win over the Lakers as he scored 15 points. D’Angelo Russell also had a huge game as he quieted the Staples Center crowd that once cheered for him, as he finished with 21 points and 13 assists in the win that officially eliminated the Lakers from playoff contention.
They were led in scoring in the game by Joe Harris’ 26 points. Spencer Dinwiddie had 19 and Ed Davis had 14 points and 15 rebounds off the bench, and Jarrett Allen contributed 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Davis, Allen Crabbe and Shabazz Napier all know tonight’s opponent well as they were all members of the Portland Trail Blazers.

Blazers Analysis

After losing to the San Antonio Spurs last Saturday, the Portland Trail Blazers have quietly put together a nice three-game run, with wins over the Indiana Pacers, Dallas Mavericks and Detroit Pistons.
The Blazers have had to do so without the services of shooting guard C.J. McCollum, but Damian Lillard has been averaging over 30 points and 10 rebounds per game in his last four games. Lillard says the Blazers are trying to focus on themselves instead of paying too much attention to the movement around them in the Western Conference.
“We know it’s possible (to move up), but we have to worry about ourselves,” Blazers guard Damian Lillard said. “It’s such a tight race that, with one or two losses here or there, you can drop three spots.”
In the win against the Pistons, Lillard had 28 points and nine assists. He was one of six Portland players that scored in double figures. Al-Farouq Aminu had 22 points, Jusuf Nurkic had 15 points and Seth Curry came off the bench for 16.
