Best Bet: Under 46.5 (-120) at DraftKings

Score Prediction: Chiefs 28, Colts 17

The Pick: Chiefs 28, Colts 17

We’ll take the Under based on head-to-head data along with Kansas City’s O/U record both at home and against the AFC.

Game Betting Analysis

Taking the Chiefs seems too simple, doesn’t it? Kansas City impressed in Week 1 with a beat down of the Denver Broncos, now entering tonight’s game vs Indianapolis with a win in 11 straight home games against teams on losing streaks. Indy is on an eight-game losing streak and coming off a home loss where they were beaten handily by the Baltimore Ravens. With that said, the Colts have covered three straight games against Kansas City which includes an outright win where Matt Ryan was the quarterback. Kansas City has only covered twice in the last eight meetings with Indianapolis while the Under has hit in five straight meetings. Also, the Under has hit in 10 straight games for Kansas City when facing the AFC.

Deciding Factor: Kenneth Walker III vs. Colts Front Seven

Kansas City’s run game is the swing factor tonight. Walker exploded for 173 yards in his Chiefs debut last week — the most rushing yards in the NFL in Week 1 — and broke 14 tackles, the most by any back in a single game since 2022. That workload fits a Chiefs offense that leaned on the ground game for 220 total rushing yards, its third-highest single-game total of the Andy Reid era, signaling a real shift toward establishing Walker early rather than leaning solely on Mahomes through the air.

Indianapolis, meanwhile, is still patching a run defense that allowed 202 yards on the ground to Baltimore in Week 1. Colts DC Lou Anarumo called it a “bad game” born of alignment and communication breakdowns, and the club has already responded by shifting defensive-communication duties from Cam Bynum to veteran linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither. If Indy can’t clean that up fast, Walker turns this into a clock-control, play-action nightmare for a Colts defense already facing Mahomes and a red-hot receiving corps.
