The West Coast swing continues, with more PGA Tour golf sleepers to uncover in San Diego for the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines. Featuring the most competitive field yet in 2026, the Farmers Insurance Open brings appealing longshot golf odds.

There have certainly been more favorites than longshots who’ve gone on to win this event in recent years. But a simple formula of driving distance, short game, and proven results at Torrey Pines or other setups of comparable difficulty has proven predictive, even for longshots buried at the bottom of the odds board.

Let’s get to our most viable 2026 Farmers Insurance Open longshots and sleeper picks for golf DFS picks and betting cards. Click on the odds anywhere below to bet now using the best available prices in your state.

Finding Value in the Farmers Insurance Open Field

To identify value in any given week on the PGA Tour, I find it’s best to first understand the consensus key stat profile, then take a stance on the elements of the tournament that may go overlooked. At the Farmers Insurance Open, course history, recent form, driving distance, and scrambling in difficult scoring conditions are the key areas baked into each player’s price.

From a sleeper perspective, I will emphasize the importance of long-iron proximity, Poa putting, and performance on long and difficult comp courses to Torrey Pines as key areas to differentiate my player pool and find value for this week’s tournament.

Below, find my favorite golf DFS picks and longshots for the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open. Stats are from the last 36 rounds unless otherwise noted. Each player is listed with the best available price in Farmers Insurance Open odds.

Haotong Li

Course history has proven to be predictive for recent Farmers Insurance Open winners like Harris English, Max Homa, and Luke List. On the other hand, Matthieu Pavon showed us in 2024 that debutants are not immune to finding success here either. If there’s a player best equipped to follow the Pavon route and parlay hot overseas form into a win at Torrey Pines, I believe Haotong Li fits the bill.

Li earned a 2026 PGA Tour card after a standout DP World Tour season last year, which included a win and five top-five finishes. That form has carried into the new year, with top-10 finishes in two of his first three starts of the season. Li impressed in his first career start at The American Express last week, finishing T8 and ranking No. 1 for the week in SG: Ball Striking. A long driver who is currently clicking in all facets of his game, Li is well-equipped to handle a difficult test like Torrey Pines.

Aldrich Potgieter

It was a true boom-or-bust rookie campaign for Potgieter, which included a win at the Rocket Classic, a playoff loss at the Mexico Open, and many missed cuts in between. The correlation for Potgieter is simple, however: he is at his best on long, driver-heavy courses. In his first look at Torrey Pines last season, Potgieter played in the final pairing on Sunday before fizzling to a modest T15 finish.

I believe his approach in 2025 will be a repeatable one for years to come, as he bombed and gouged Torrey Pines and produced more wedge approaches from the rough than any other player in the field. While not profiling as one of the most prolific approach players in this field, Torrey Pines is a unique PGA Tour setup that offers pure bombers a leg up when taking more lofted clubs into these small, firm greens. The 21-year-old picked up a T9 finish at the driver-heavy Alfred Dunhill Championship last month and should continue to develop as a talented star on Tour as his experience builds.

Kevin Roy

One of my favorite fantasy leverage plays this week, Kevin Roy is not going to jump off the page in a Farmers Insurance Open model, but his underlying metrics suggest a breakout performance could be coming. Roy is an appealing target who excels in the areas that matter most at Torrey Pines. He ranks top 15 in Driving Distance, Proximity: 200+, and SG: Putting (L36). He began the season on a high note with a T13 finish at the Sony Open, and while a missed cut at The American Express may feel disappointing, his final score of -9 isn’t exactly a cause for panic.

Roy played his best golf on long courses that produced ample 200+ yard approach shots in 2025, with top-20 finishes at the Puerto Rico Open, CJ Cup Byron Nelson, RBC Canadian Open, and Rocket Classic. It remains to be seen how his game will hold up in more difficult conditions, but Roy still makes for a high-upside fantasy and placement play this week.

Karl Vilips

The Farmers Insurance Open has been kind to longshots like Luke List and Matthieu Pavon in recent years, so I’m not afraid to reach this far down the board in search of upside. Like List, Vilips profiles as a bomber with spike approach upside.

The 2025 Puerto Rico Open champion began his 2026 campaign on the right foot with a solid T18 showing at last week’s American Express. Vilips ranked top 20 for the week in SG: Ball Striking and will be able to flex his distance advantage even more on a course that plays over 400 yards longer than PGA West. He makes for a viable high-upside fantasy tournament play and a top-40 placement consideration at the Farmers Insurance Open this week.

Best of luck if you bet or play these golf DFS picks for the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open.
