White Sox at Guardians (ALDS Game 1, 1 p.m. ET, Progressive Field)

This is the first-ever playoff meeting between these two AL Central rivals. Cleveland used its first-round bye to line up its rotation and hands the ball to rookie lefty Parker Messick, who posted a 2.56 ERA with 193 strikeouts this season and has been even better against Chicago specifically, a 2.81 ERA in matchups with the White Sox. Chicago, fresh off sweeping Houston in the Wild Card round, is playing it loose with its own starter, with manager Will Venable mixing and matching arms by matchup rather than committing to a traditional rotation.

Yankees at Rays (ALDS Game 1, 6:30 p.m. ET, Tropicana Field)

A pitching-first showdown between the AL’s top two teams. Gerrit Cole gets the ball for New York and has a 2.50 ERA in three regular-season starts against Tampa Bay, though he’s had some home run troubles down the stretch. Tampa Bay counters with Drew Rasmussen, who finished with the AL’s fourth-best ERA (2.67) and led the league in WHIP (0.91) — and he’s historically dominant against the Yankees, a 5-2 career record with a 1.81 ERA.

Braves at Dodgers (NLDS Game 1, 4 p.m. ET)

Atlanta punched its ticket here by beating Philadelphia in a decisive Wild Card Game 3, and now runs into the 100-win Dodgers, who used their bye week to rest and set up their rotation. Los Angeles enters as the favorite, but the Braves showed in the Wild Card round they can win ugly, low-scoring games behind matchup-based bullpen strategy — exactly the kind of approach they’ll need against a stacked Dodgers lineup.

Padres at Brewers (NLDS Game 1, 8:30 p.m. ET)

A true contrast in styles. Milwaukee’s rotation ranked 5th in MLB with a 3.61 ERA despite being one of the least experienced in the league, led by phenom right-hander Jacob Misiorowski, who went 16-5 with an MLB-best 1.80 ERA and led the majors in strikeouts (252) this season. San Diego counters with a battle-tested but shakier rotation (21st in MLB, 4.42 ERA) fronted by either a resurgent Walker Buehler or trade-deadline addition Robbie Ray, backed by one of the league’s best bullpens.

UFC 332: Silva vs. Wang (Delta Center, Salt Lake City)

The first UFC numbered event main card ever to air on CBS features Natália Silva and Wang Cong fighting for the vacant women’s flyweight title after Valentina Shevchenko withdrew with a ligament injury. The co-main event pits Deiveson Figueiredo against Payton Talbott at bantamweight, and the main card also features former two-division KSW champion Roberto Soldic making his long-awaited UFC debut against knockout artist Khaos Williams at welterweight.

With four win-or-go-home ballgames and a loaded UFC card all hitting the same Saturday, there’s no shortage of moments to put that $250 bonus to work. Sign up with promo code LINEUPS before the first pitch to get in on the action.
