Mike Trout Odds For MLB HR Picks:
Let’s begin my home run predictions with the future first-ballot Hall of Famer, who’s slashing .238/.372/.448 with 20 home runs in 425 plate appearances. We’ve seen excellent batted ball metrics from Mike Trout, including a 14.4% barrel rate that ranks in the 88th percentile.
He’s only hit one dinger this month, but I like his spot against Nick Martinez and the Cincinnati Reds tonight.
The right-handed Martinez has struggled a bit with limiting the long ball, as highlighted by a 1.23 HR/9. Trout has also fared well against Martinez in his career, putting up two home runs and a .513 xwOBA in 29 plate appearances.
With that in mind, let’s ride with Trout to tally homer No. 21 at home.
Junior Caminero Odds For MLB HR Picks:
The next home run target is the budding third baseman for the Tampa Bay Rays. Junior Caminero has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball during the “second half,” slashing .265/.315/.602 with 12 home runs in 124 plate appearances.
He’s gone yard seven times in his last 11 games, and I’m always looking to ride the wave with a locked-in hitter. Moreover, Caminero already has one homer in three plate appearances against New York Yankees right-hander Cam Schlittler.
Considering Caminero’s current form, this matchup looks like the right time to go with the Rays’ superstar at the hitter-friendly Steinbrenner Field.
Ozzie Albies Odds For MLB HR Picks:
I’ll finish off my home run predictions with second baseman Ozzie Albies, who has underperformed this season. However, he’s picked up his game of late, coinciding with the Atlanta Braves playing better baseball overall.
This stretch includes multi-hit games in his last eight contests, along with one homer during that span. Albies’ career numbers against Chicago White Sox southpaw Martin Perez stand out as well, featuring two home runs in only nine plate appearances.
Let’s go with the veteran to hit homer No. 11 on the season in this spot.
