Home Run Prop Predictions & Odds: MLB HR Best Bets for Saturday, September 19th

We’ve got a full slate of baseball on Saturday. We’re targeting Miguel Vargas, Elly De La Cruz, and Corey Seager. Each of these hitters are swinging the bat well lately, making them worth a look in this spot. With that in mind, keep reading to find out more about why these sluggers are in favorable spots for home runs.

Miguel Vargas (White Sox vs. Tigers) Home Run Odds

Miguel Vargas has been one of the biggest breakouts of the season, coming into Friday’s action with a .248/.356/.471 with 31 home runs in 666 plate appearances. This includes an impressive 13.2% barrel rate.

Vargas has an exploitable matchup against Tigers’ right-hander Jackson Jobe, who has a 4.45 xERA and a 1.56 HR/9. This is a pitcher who has had a major issue with the long ball.

On top of that, Vargas has solid numbers vs. Jobe, going 2-for-6 in a small sample. With Vargas homering on September 14th and in good form, it’s a good time to take a shot on him.

With that in mind, we’ll ride with Vargas to hit No. 32 here. Risk 0.1 units.

Elly De La Cruz (Reds vs. Cubs) Home Run Odds

Elly De La Cruz came into Friday’s action with a .284/.362/.517 slash with 28 home runs in 597 plate appearances. This includes an elite 16.1% barrel rate.

Elly has been one of the hottest hitters in MLB lately. In September, he’s slashing .397/.453/.845, so he’s been rolling lately. I love the spot at home in the bandbox that is Great American Ball Park, which is one of the most homer-friendly environments in MLB.

This is a good spot against Matthew Boyd, who has a 4.69 xERA and a 1.18 HR/9. Given how hot Elly has been at the plate, he’s worth a look in this matchup. Risk 0.1 units.

Corey Seager (Rangers vs. Blue Jays) Home Run Odds

Corey Seager came into Friday’s action with a .234/.325/.434 slash with 18 home runs in 397 plate appearances. It’s been an underwhelming season, but at least he has a 14.4% barrel rate, so he’s hitting the ball hard.

Seager is starting to swing the bat well, hitting safely in six consecutive games. This could be the start of a power binge. It’s a good matchup against Jose Soriano, who has a .316 wOBA allowed vs lefties (.265 wOBA vs righties).

Out of the 16 home runs allowed by Soriano this year, 13 have come against lefties. With that in mind, we’ll take a shot on Seager here. Risk 0.1 units.
