Nolan Traore (BKN) Over Points + Assists
The Nets face off with the Wizards on Sunday afternoon in a game between two teams playing out the string, and Traore could have a significant role. The rookie first-round pick has been playing fairly well down the stretch despite some pretty significant shooting struggles, averaging 11.3 points, 5.4 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals per contest over 25.1 minutes across his last eight games. Sunday, not only will he be facing a defensively vulnerable and very fast-paced opponent, but he’ll be doing so without Nic Claxton, Michael Porter Jr. and Ziaire Williams, and Noah Clowney could potentially sit out as well.
The Wizards check in allowing an NBA-high 28.9 points per game to point guards in the last 15 contests, along with the sixth-most assists (9.6) to the position. Brooklyn has a solid 116.75 implied point total for Sunday’s clash, and Traore is averaging 18.6 points + assists per 36 minutes with his trio of aforementioned injured teammates off the floor. That figure bumps up slightly to 18.8 if Clowney is also unavailable, leaving Traore with a bright outlook Sunday.

Kyle Kuzma (MIL) – Over Points + Rebounds
Kuzma is helping pick up the slack over the final few weeks of the regular season with Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) in the midst of an extended absence that looks more and more likely to sideline him for the rest of the campaign. Despite some fluctuations in his production, Kuzma is averaging a solid 14.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game over the last 15 contests, shooting a crisp 51.5 percent, including 39.2 percent from behind the arc, along the way. Sunday’s matinee matchup lines up extremely well for the veteran forward, as the short-handed Grizzlies have been very permeable in the frontcourt.
The Grizzlies are allowing the third-highest offensive efficiency rating to power forwards (28.7), while also conceding 47.7% shooting to the position. Additionally, Memphis is yielding 35.0 points + rebounds to fours, including 35.9 in the last seven games. Kuzma produced 23 points + rebounds over 30 minutes in his one prior meeting against the Grizzlies back on Dec. 26 as well, a game that Antetokounmpo was also out for but that Kevin Porter Jr. and Bobby Portis, who’ll both remain sidelined Sunday, were in the starting five. Kuzma is averaging 25.1 points + rebounds per 36 minutes with Giannis, Porter and Portis off the floor, making this a very viable prop.

Wendell Carter, Jr. (ORL) – Over Points + Rebounds
Carter is playing what might be the best basketball of his career as the Magic preps for the postseason and he heads into a favorable matchup against the Pelicans on Sunday. The 2018 first-round pick of the Bulls is thriving over the last 12 games, putting up 14.8 points (on 55.6 percent shooting), 7.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists across 30.2 minutes per contest in that span. Carter is coming off a season-high 28-point showing against the Mavericks, and he’s recorded over 20.5 points + rebounds on seven occasions during the sample. However, just a handful of points or rebounds would change that figure drastically, as Carter has landed on exactly 20 points + rebounds on three additional occasions.
New Orleans’ frontcourt defense has been an issue most of the season, and the Pelicans have been particularly struggling in that area down the stretch. The Pelicans are allowing the fourth-most points (31.3) and most rebounds (19.1) to centers within the last seven games, and they’re also yielding the fifth-most points in the paint per home game (53.8), while Carter is scoring just under half of his points in that part of the floor. He’s also converting exactly half of his 15.0 rebounding chances per contest, adding to his appeal.

Deandre Ayton (LAL) – Over Points + Rebounds
The Lakers have suddenly been hit with a barrage of fairly catastrophic injury news within the last 48 hours, as both Luka Doncic (hamstring) and Austin Reaves (oblique) are out for the remainder of the regular season. Naturally, that will place a lot more on the shoulders of LeBron James, but at 40 years of age, he can no longer consistently carry such a sizable load on his own. Enter Ayton, who was brought in this offseason to serve as a productive low-post offensive presence. The veteran big man has done a relatively effective job of such while averaging 12.4 points per contest, but he’ll be in position for much more opportunity Sunday against the same Mavericks squad that just facilitated Carter’s season-best effort.
Dallas is now conceding the sixth-highest offensive efficiency rating to centers on the season (34.8), along with the fifth-most total rebounds per game (54.9) and fifth-highest defensive rebounding rate (77%). Ayton is converting an impressive 59.1% of his 14.1 rebounding chances per game, and he’s averaging 31.6 points + rebounds per 36 minutes when both Doncic and Reaves are off the floor this season. He’s also averaging 22.5 points + rebounds across 30 minutes in two prior games against Dallas this season, and he should have more opportunity (13.7 FGA per 36 w/out Doncic and Reaves) than in those contests on Sunday.
