The Thunder inched ever closer to their second consecutive NBA Finals appearance in Tuesday’s Game 5, a 13-point home victory to dislodge what had been a 2-2 series tie. That naturally sets Thursday’s Game 6 showdown up as a potential elimination scenario, although the Spurs are actually a modest favorite on their home floor.

As customary, we zero in on three player props to consider for tonight’s action. Also, be sure to check out our daily NBA betting trends page for odds and data on every game.

Thursday’s Best NBA Player Props

  • Isaiah Hartenstein (OKC) – Over Points + Rebounds
  • Julian Champagnie (SAO) – Over Rebounds
  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC) – Over Assists

Isaiah Hartenstein (OKC) – Over Points + Rebounds

Hartenstein smashed his 14.5 points + rebounds prop as part of our Tuesday Game 5 suggestions, extending what has been an impressive postseason for the big man outside of a couple of atypical performances. Hartenstein is now averaging 20.6 points + rebounds over 24.3 minutes per game since Game 2 of the current series, going 3-1 to the Over on tonight’s 15.5 figure in the process. Zooming out to the entirety of the postseason, Hartenstein is averaging 18.0 points + rebounds on 67.1% shooting across 24.2 minutes over 13 games.

Hartenstein is 9-4 to the Over on the 15.5 in that sample, and he finished on the hook with 15 in one other contest. Following Tuesday’s stellar 15-rebound showing, Hartenstein is now averaging 14.2 rebounding opportunities per contest and converting them at a formidable 63.4% clip. He’s also put up at least eight shots in three of the last four games, and given he essentially only engages in high-percentage attempts, the 15.5 should be very much within his range of outcomes again.

Original line publish: 15.5

Julian Champagnie (SAO) – Over Rebounds

Champagnie’s shooting has been less than efficient in this series, unsurprising given the tough defensive matchup the Thunder presents all across the floor. However, the floor-spacing forward was cooking in Game 5 despite the Spurs’ double-digit loss, knocking down eight of his 15 shots from the field, including four of eight from three-point range on his way to a playoff-high 22 points. Nevertheless, the big man had shot just 29.7% from the field in the first four games of the series, as OKC has been largely effective in defending Champagnie on the perimeter.

The uncertainty inherent in the matchup therefore takes Champagnie’s points + rebounds prop off the table, but his rebounds bet certainly remains in play. Champagnie is converting 50% of his 12.4 rebounding opportunities per game in the series, leaving him with an average of 6.2 boards per contest. While he’s still just 2-3 to the Over on the 5.5 in the series, he’s finished with five on two other occasions. He’s averaging 6.5 rebounds per game in 10 games against the Thunder since the start of the regular season as well, furthering his case.

Original Line Publish: 5.5

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC) – Over Assists

SGA has been a virtual lock for 9+ assists in this series, save for the one game where, coincidentally, we recommended the Over on the same 7.5 figure he carries Thursday. Still, the two-time MVP finished with seven assists in that contest, and he’s dished out between nine and 12 in the four other games. Dating back to Game 3 of the semifinal-round series against the Lakers, Gilgeous-Alexander is 6-1 to the Over on the 7.5 number.

SGA is averaging an 8.2 assists per game overall in the postseason, and he’s also sporting a 31.0% usage rate in the Thunder’s 13 playoff games. His 42.1% assist rate during these playoffs is also a career-best figure for Gilgeous-Alexander in five career postseasons, and he’s averaging 21.3 assist points created on 15.4 potential assist opportunities per contest. With another busy night likely in store as the Thunder looks to punch its Finals ticket, 8+ assists are certainly within the range of possibilities.

Original Line Publish: 7.5
