Victor Wembanyama To Record 30+ Points + Rebounds, VJ Edgecombe To Record 20+ Points + Rebounds + Assists, Kelly Oubre To Record 20+ Points + Rebounds (+171 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
The Spurs and 76ers link up for a nationally televised interconference clash on Tuesday night, a game which the hosts will play without Joel Embiid (oblique). San Antonio is now a 7.5-point road favorite after the line opened at -5.5, and the projected total stands at 232.5 points.
We’ll start our three-leg parlay with one of the most reliable multi-category producers on either side of the matchup, Wembanyama. The star big man comes into Tuesday’s marquee matchup with plenty of momentum, averaging 22.8 points, 11.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 3.5 blocks and 1.3 steals over the 12 games he’s played since Feb. 1. Wemby is 8-4 to the 30 points + rebounds threshold in that sample, and Tuesday, he’s facing a Sixers team that’s short-handed down low due to Embiid’s absence and that’s allowed 38.5 points + rebounds to centers in the last 15 games.
We’ll shift to the 76ers side for the final two legs and start with Edgecombe, who’s arguably playing the most consistent basketball yet of his nascent career over the last several weeks. The rookie third overall pick is putting up 17.9 points and 9.5 rebounds + assists over his last 11 games, a stretch where he’s averaged a robust 34.9 minutes per contest. Edgecombe is averaging 27.6 points + rebounds + assists per 36 minutes with Embiid and the suspended Paul George off the floor this season as well, including 29.7 PRA in that scenario since Feb. 1. The Spurs certainly present a tough defensive matchup, but we’re only looking for Edgecombe to get to the 20 PRA mark to keep our parlay going.
We’ll finish off with Oubre, another 76ers first-unit member that’s benefitted regularly when not sharing the floor with PG 13 and Embiid. Oubre is averaging 21.3 points + rebounds per 36 minutes in that split, and before a dud against the Celtics on Sunday, Oubre had averaged 21.2 points + rebounds in his previous 12 games despite Embiid being active for half of those contests. The Spurs have also displayed a bit more weakness than usual to Oubre’s small forward position lately, surrendering the fourth-most points (27.1) to the position in the last 15 games.
Devin Booker To Score 20+ Points, Mark Williams To Record 15+ Points + Rebounds, Suns Alt. Spread -6.5 (+168 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
The Suns pay a visit to the reeling Kings on Tuesday night in a game that Phoenix is unsurprisingly a double-digit road favorite for. Phoenix is back to full health in its starting five, as Devin Booker will notably return to action from a four-game absence due to a hip injury.
We’ll stick with a full Suns card here in terms of our three legs, as even though the Kings have won a couple of games since the All-Star break, those have come against te Mavericks and Grizzlies. The return of Booker makes Tuesday a much different scenario, and counting on the star guard to get to at least the 20-point threshold seems like a solid way to start. Booker has only played in three games overall since Jan. 23, so there could certainly be some rust. However, he’s averaged 27.7 points per game over three contests against the Kings this season, and he’s 33-11 in terms of hitting/exceeding the 20-point mark this season, including 17-6 on the road. Sacramento is also conceding the sixth-highest two-point shooting (56.2%) and eighth-highest three-point shooting (36.6%) on its home floor.
Another area of vulnerability for Sacramento is its low post defense, putting Williams firmly in play despite the volatility in his production. The big man has had plenty of success in his first year in Phoenix, yet he enters Tuesday having averaged just 6.3 points and 6.7 rebounds over the last six games. Nevertheless, Williams has the ability to bounce back and capitalize on amenable matchups like Tuesday’s, where he faces a Kings squad allowing an NBA-high 25.3 points per game to centers on the season, along with the 10th-most total rebounds per home game (54.3). Williams also has a solid track record to lean on against Sacramento, averaging 26 points + rebounds per contest in his three matchups against the Kings this season.
Finally, we’ll go with a game-level bet and take advantage of FD’s Alt. Spread feature to bring down the standard projected advantage for Phoenix from -10 to -6.5. That still keeps our price above +150 and allows us a bit more wiggle room in the event of the Kings playing a bit more competitively than projected. The Suns are 3-0 against the Kings this season and only one game has been close (four-point margin), with the recording a 12-point victory in the one contest at Golden 1 Center thus far and also recording a 27-point win on their home floor. The Kings also have a Western Conference-worst -7.8-point average scoring margin at home, furthering the case.
