We’re set for another big 13-game main Sunday slate in Week 3, one that already features the NFL’s second installment of its International Series as the Cowboys and Ravens do battle in the second-ever game in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
With two games in the books for each team that will be taking the field, we as bettors are starting to get the earliest inklings of what each of those squads will actually be this season on either side of the ball, affording us at least a cursory base from which to make our betting decisions.
That being said, let’s dive into three prop opportunities that stand out in Week 3. Be sure to check out our NFL betting trends page as well, for data and odds on every game.

Best NFL Week 3 Player Props
- Chase Brown Over 89.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards
- David Montgomery Over 47.5 Rushing Yards
- Garrett Wilson Over 62.5 Receiving Yards
Chase Brown (Bengals vs. Steelers) Over Rushing + Receiving Yards
The Bengals vowed a noteworthy change on offense coming into the season, that being to pivot to much more operating under center and with it, a more consistent focus on the run game. Brown expressed excitement from training camp about a potentially expanded role that would leave him shouldering a true No. 1 back workload most weeks, and thus far, that’s come to fruition in the form of an average of 22 touches per contest through two games.
While the yards have still been somewhat at a premium – he’s netted 160 total, but just 3.8 per carry – Brown’s upside remains as high as ever, and in Week 3, he draws a matchup he’s thrived in repeatedly early in his career. Brown has averaged 6.5 yards per carry over four career games against Pittsburgh, and he’s added an average of 2.6 receptions per game in that sample.
Brown is 3-1 to the Over on the 89.5 figure in those contests, and the one where he failed to get here was a 2023 game in which he had just six total touches. The Steelers are also allowing 4.3 yards per carry to running backs over the first two games, as well as 5.0 receptions and 48.5 receiving yards to the position.

David Montgomery (Texans vs. Colts) Over Rushing Yards
Montgomery marked his release from the restraints of having to share a backfield with Jahmyr Gibbs by scoring three touchdowns alongside 60 rushing yards during a Week 1 loss to the Bills in his Texans debut, but the veteran back still gained a modest 3.0 yards per carry in that contest. D-Mont then all but disappeared during Houston’s surprising Week 2 loss to the Bengals, netting only 10 yards on six carries (along with a 2-14-0 receiving line) as the Texans went a lot more pass-heavy and backfield mate Woody Marks also received eight carries of his own.
Demeco Ryans’ squad is now 0-2 and undoubtedly looking to get back to a much more balanced approach in a suddenly critical road division clash with the Colts, even with Nico Collins now confirmed to be out for a second consecutive contest due to his hamstring injury. The Colts present as a good team to take that approach against, considering Indianapolis has surrendered the third-most rushing yards (and second most of teams that have yet to play in Week 3) (294) to running backs and has done so at a clip of 5.3 yards per carry.
Montgomery hasn’t exactly been efficient with his opportunities over the first two games from a yards-per-carry standpoint, but this is a low bar for him as the lead runner on a Texans team that will be intent on establishing a ground attack in a game that should be close throughout.

Garrett Wilson (Jets vs. Lions) Over Receiving Yards
Wilson and new quarterback Geno Smith have gotten their working relationship off to a solid start. Smith has brought some much-needed stability to the Jets’ quarterback position as expected and Wilson has been a key target, bringing in 11 of 14 targets for 136 yards and a touchdown. The 2022 first-round pick is also being looked for further downfield than has been the norm, as Wilson is averaging a career-high 9.7 yards per target, which easily outpaces the previous high of 7.5 he generated in his rookie season.
Two of of Wilson’s 11 catches have already gone for 20+ yards as a result, and in Week 3, Wilson is drawing a matchup that could be ripe for some chunk gains through the air. The Lions’ secondary is injury-riddled at the moment, with Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph but still on the PUP list, Avonte Maddox having just hit IR with a foot injury and Thomas Harper trending toward being questionable due to an ankle injury.
Of teams that have yet to play their Week 3 games, the Lions have given up the most receptions (30) and receiving yards (437) to wide receivers in the early going. Detroit also ranks in the bottom 10 in yards per completion allowed (11.3), and this is a game where the Jets figure to have to remain aggressive throughout.
