The Teaser: 3-Team Breakdown
Leg 1: Bills -1 (teased from -7)
While it’s normally wise to zig when everyone zags, I don’t believe we have found the floor for the Los Angeles Chargers yet. Simply put, the offense is abysmal, a group that ranks in the bottom six in Off DVOA and in EPA. Injuries across the offensive line give Justin Herbert less time in the pocket to let his plays develop, forcing him to weave the ball into tight passing lanes.
Every stalled out drive will plummet the Chargers chances of keeping pace with Buffalo, keeping them behind on the scoreboard. With Josh Allen firing on all cylinders, the Bills have been efficient, leading the league in Off EPA per play while generating nearly five touchdowns per game just by himself. With no signs of slowing down, expect the Bills to build on their momentum and cash the first leg of the teaser.
Leg 2: Seahawks -1.5 (teased from -7.5)
Even when dealing with injuries at multiple levels of the field, the Seattle Seahawks have been dominant on defense, climbing into the top-5 in Def EPA while leading the league in Def Rush Success Rate. Seattle’s high level of play on defense helps them avoid playing in highly volatile contests while giving the offense extra possessions to help pull away and secure the win.
Heading into Week 3, expect the Seahawks defensive line to continue to generate pressure at a high rate, forcing Marcus Mariota to throw on the run which will lower the quality of his passes. By crashing the interior with just the defensive line, the Seahawks will also be able to anchor the linebackers in coverage, giving them extra bodies in the back end to help create disruptions and stall out the Commanders offense.
Leg 3: 49ers -2.5 (teased from -8.5)
Two games into the year, arguably no one has looked more polished than the San Francisco 49ers that are fresh off of a comfortable win over Miami before boat racing the Los Angeles Rams. The 49ers high level of play on both sides of the ball reduces the amount of variance in the contest, fielding a group that ranks second in Off EPA and eighth in Def EPA.
In a favorable matchup against Arizona, Brock Purdy will be able to consistently move the ball down the field by picking apart the Cardinals gaps in coverage. Defending against the pass has been a chore for Arizona’s secondary, limping into Week 3 ranked in the bottom half of the board in Def Pass EPA and in Dropback Success Rate. With the 49ers wideouts stretching out the back end, Christian McCaffrey will have more room to work with in the middle, giving the 49ers multiple paths to the red zone.

Why This Teaser Hits
This week’s teaser targets a trio of Super Bowl contenders that are all in a favorable position to win, yet sit on the wrong side of a key number before being teased. By crashing them through the key numbers of -7 and -3, the probability of getting burned by the hook drastically declines, increasing our chances of cashing each leg.
Each opponent they face also has glaring issues on defense, primarily on the back end with all three secondaries ranking in the bottom fifteen in Def Pass EPA and in Dropback Success Rate. By allowing the Bills, Seahawks, and 49ers to cut the distance to gain in half through the air, they will be able to set themselves up in favorable positions to convert on later downs and march down the field.
Once behind, the Chargers, Commanders, and Cardinals all lack the firepower that is needed to match their opponents output, leading to lopsided affairs. Reminder, in order to win your wager, every leg in your teaser must cash or else the bet as a whole will be graded as a loss.
