An exciting 2025 regular season has come to an end, and Super Wild Card Weekend is upon us. Here’s a betting preview of each of the six opening-round postseason clashes and their initial betting lines following each team’s Week 18 results. All times below are ET.
Opening Super Wild Card Weekend NFL Odds: Spreads, Moneylines, Totals
Los Angeles Rams at Carolina Panthers: Saturday, Jan. 10, 4:30 p.m. ET
This opening salvo of Wild Card Weekend carries the most lopsided spread, as a Rams squad likely to have Davante Adams back in the fold from his hamstring injury is expected to roll over the host Panthers.
However, it bears noting Los Angeles already lost to Carolina at Bank of America Stadium this season, taking a surprising 31-28 defeat in Week 13 during which Matthew Stafford took two sacks and threw a pair of picks as well, while Bryce Young posted a 3:0 TD:INT.
Neither team had much success stopping the others’ ground attack and the Panthers did a good job containing Puka Nacua (6-72), adding some intrigue to this rematch.
The Rams are massive 10-to-10.5-point road favorites as the week begins.
Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears: Saturday, Jan. 10, 8:00 p.m. ET
A postseason battle between two of the oldest rivals in the league should be the subject of plenty of interest. Green Bay will have Jordan Love back from his concussion and Josh Jacobs will be much more rested than usual after a light Week 17 workload and a game off in Week 18.
The Bears finished the season with two narrow losses, but they’ll be looking for a postseason reset that could include the return of Rome Odunze from his foot injury. Chicago also recorded a 28-21 victory over Green Bay at Soldier Field this season while narrowly dropping their Lambeau Field meeting by a 22-16 margin in overtime.
The Bears are the narrowest of home favorites — as little as half a point — at the start of the week.
Buffalo Bills at Jacksonville Jaguars: Sunday, Jan. 11, 1:00 p.m. ET
The Bills made quick and easy work of the Jets in Week 18 as expected, wrapping up their regular season just two points short of six consecutive victories. Buffalo had the luxury of resting Josh Allen (except for one play to keep his starts streak alive) and James Cook except for a pair of carries.
The Jaguars similarly rolled in Week 18 at the expense of the overmatched Titans. Trevor Lawrence finished off a career-best regular season with a three-touchdown day, and his significant surge during the second half of the season propelled Jacksonville to a 13-4 mark. With Liam Coen keeping the offense clicking on all cylinders and the defense also one of the best in either conference, the Jags are the proverbial team no one wants to face in the postseason.
Despite the setting and the Jaguars’ superior record, Buffalo is notably the 1.5-point favorite to start the week.
San Francisco 49ers at Philadelphia Eagles: Sunday, Jan. 11, 4:30 p.m. ET
The 49ers finished their regular season with a concerning dud, and on their home field no less, losing out on the opportunity for the NFC West title and No. 1 seed in the NFC with their 13-3 loss to the Seahawks on Saturday night in Week 18. San Fran will hope for a significant rebound eight days later, as well as the availability of Ricky Pearsall (knee) with the extra day between games after the speedy receiver missed the matchup vs. Seattle.
The Eagles rested plenty of starters, including Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley, in Week 18, and yet nearly pulled off a win over the Commanders. The 24-17 defeat snapped a three-game winning streak but obviously had no real relevance to the big picture, and Hurts and company will now have the benefit of an extra week of rest coming into this matchup.
The host Eagles are solid 4.5-point home favorites as the week begins,
Los Angeles Chargers at New England Patriots: Sunday, Jan. 11, 8:00 p.m. ET
The Chargers gave Justin Herbert and Omarion Hampton some much-needed rest in Sunday’s Week 18 loss to the Broncos, readying their biggest stars for the start of a second postseason journey in as many seasons with Jim Harbaugh at the helm. The presumption is Hampton, who finished the last game he played in Week 17 against the Texans, will be ready to go despite having been officially listed as out Sunday due to an ankle injury.
The Patriots didn’t open their Week 18 matchup against the Dolphins resting starters, but that’s what they had the luxury of doing for most of the second half of a 38-10 victory. Drake Maye put a fitting cap on a breakout season with another crisp performance, while the surging backfield duo of Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson accounted for five total touchdowns as the Pats put a bow on a 14-3 regular season.
In what could be one of the most competitive games of the weekend, New England is a 3.5-point home favorite.
Houston Texans at Pittsburgh Steelers: Monday, Jan. 12, 8:15 p.m. ET
The Texans had a lot more trouble than they likely bargained for closing out the season, but Houston was able to get past the Riley Leonard-led Colts by a 38-30 score. However, both Nick Chubb and Nico Collins were rested, while C.J. Stroud eventually gave way to Davis Mills. DeMeco Ryans’ squad finished with a 12-5 mark, including 5-3 on the road, and will be at full health for this primetime matchup.
The Steelers got into the postseason by the thinnest of margins, squeezing by the Ravens, 26-24, at Acrisure Stadium following a wild back-and-forth fourth quarter that culminated in a Tyler Loop missed field goal as time expired. However, to Pittsburgh’s credit, they got there despite having to play the last two games without No. 1 receiver DK Metcalf, a credit to Aaron Rodgers and the team’s two-headed ground attack of Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell.
Despite Sunday night’s heroics, the Steelers are 3-to-3.5-point home underdogs to open the week.
