PGA Tour Golf Odds, Picks, Predictions: Final Biltmore Championship Asheville Betting Card

The 2026 PGA Tour golf season continues, with The Cliffs at Walnut Cove next on tap to host the Biltmore Championship in Asheville, North Carolina, beginning Thursday. Jackson Koivun, Jacob Bridgeman, and Davis Thompson headline among Biltmore Championship Asheville bets this week, as John Haslbauer provides his favorite picks among all the golf odds for this tourney. PGA Tour action is finally back after a two-week hiatus, as the Fall Series is set to begin this Thursday. The Cliffs at Walnut Cove are first to host this inaugural event, as this field of 135 will head to Asheville, North Carolina for the Biltmore Championship. It remains to be seen exactly how this course will stand up to PGA Tour competition, but it projects to be a positional course that will reward accuracy and approach prowess.

HOW I BUILT MY BILTMORE CHAMPIONSHIP BETTING CARD

We don’t know exactly how this course will play, hosting a PGA Tour event for the very first time this week. However, with its positional layout, elevation changes, and unique setup with five par-3s and four par-5s, all indications seem to point towards this being a plodder’s paradise with a premium on approach play. It’s still important to be on point with your driving accuracy here, so i built my card around precise ball-strikers with proven history on comparable short, positional, Bentgrass courses for the 2026 Biltmore Championship Asheville. 

From a unit allocation standpoint, it’s back to business as usual for my weekly stake at the 2026 Biltmore Championship Asheville.

BILTMORE CHAMPIONSHIP ASHEVILLE CHAMPIONSHIP BETS: OUTRIGHTS (3.5 UNITS)

Ben James

My Bet: +2700 

Best Available Odds:

The 23-year-old wasted no time acclimating to competition at the PGA Tour level, picking up two top-5 finishes within his first eight career pro starts. The most recent of which came in the state of North Carolina, where he finished 3rd at the Wyndham Championship in his last start. At Sedgefield CC, another short and positional course that emphasizes elite iron play, James ranked 2nd in SG: APP, 3rd in SG: T2G, and 7th in SG: OTT.

It’s still far too early to project what type of career we should expect from James, but all of the initial signs have been encouraging. He ranks 3rd overall in my model this week, a credit to rating out 1st in SG: TOT over the last 36 rounds and top-10 in SG: T2G, Par 3 Scoring, and Par 5 Scoring. He’s proven he can hang around with the PGA Tour’s best on easier scoring setups, and will be a dangerous player to watch throughout the Fall Series if that momentum continues. 

Davis Thompson

My Bet: +2700 

Best Available Odds:

It was too little, too late for Davis Thompson, as his late surge was not enough to get him into the FedEx Cup Playoffs, ending the regular season at 77th in the standings. With finishes of T7, T8, and T14 over his last three starts, there’s an argument to be made that Thompson is the “hottest” player outside the top-70. Of course, 6+ weeks on the shelf can extinguish any heater, but Thompson’s game should translate well at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove’s positional setup.

I continue to look straight to TPC Deere Run as the top comp course to reference this week, given the similar course yardage, Bentgrass agronomy, elevation changes, and volume of scoring opportunities. It was there that Thompson picked up his first career PGA Tour victory in 2024, doing so in dominant fashion. Thompson ranks 2nd in SG: TOT over the last 36 rounds behind James, and 8th overall in my Biltmore Championship model.

JT Poston

My Bet: +3300 

Best Available Odds:

It’s a home game for Poston, who grew up a town over from Asheville in Hickory, North Carolina. After a strong 2026 season that included a Signature Event win on yet another Jack Nicklaus-designed Bentgrass course at the Memorial Tournament, Poston is here because he wants to be, not because he has to be. He narrowly missed the Tour Championship, ending the regular season at 32nd on the season-long standings with top-25 finishes in each of his last two playoff starts.

Throughout his career, Poston has been at his best on shorter courses that do not leave him disadvantaged for his lack of distance. Three of his four career PGA Tour victories have come on short, positional courses under 7,300 yards, including the John Deere Classic, which I believe to be the top overall comp course to The Cliffs at Walnut Cove. With the home crowd on his side, this shapes up to be a great course fit for Poston’s game. 

Blades Brown 

My Bet: +4900 

Best Available Odds:

This kid from Nashville should feel close to home in Asheville, just a 5-hour drive away. Brown is very much still a kid at the age of 19, but has played well beyond his years since turning pro. He’ll have a little less to prove than most other participants in the Fall Series, as his 2027 PGA Tour membership will be secured via his top-10 standing on the Korn Ferry Tour. 

Brown has made the most of his sporadic opportunities on the PGA Tour thus far, finishing top-20 in six of his 10 starts. Brown has planted the seeds for a long playing career, as he ranks above-tour-average in terms of Driving Distance, Driving Accuracy, SG: APP, and SG: Putting. 

The easier the scoring conditions, the better for Brown, whose best results on the PGA Tour this season have come at the Puerto Rico Open (3rd), the Myrtle Beach Classic (T9), the John Deere Classic (T12), and the CJ Cup Byron Nelson (T14). 

Finally playing with the freedom of a secured Tour card, I believe Blades will play with a bit more freedom this week, and he’ll enter with high expectations coming off of three consecutive top-10 finishes on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Emiliano Grillo

My Bet: +7700 

Best Available Odds:

It looked as though Grillo may have had an inside track towards a Presidents Cup captain’s selection until a stronger closing stretch from Nico Echavarria and Christiaan Bezuidenhout bumped him out. He may come to Asheville with a little something extra to prove to Geoff Ogilvy after his snub, as Grillo closed his 2026 regular season in very strong form. He finished T31-or-better in five of his last six starts, including a T7 at the 3M Open.

The 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge champion has sustained a long career by thriving on positional venues that emphasize his strengths of driving accuracy and elite approach play. That is the formula needed to score at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove this week, and his performance on comp courses is very encouraging. He ranks 4th in Comp Course History with recent top-15 finishes at the Valspar Championship, John Deere Classic, Charles Schwab Challenge, and the RBC Canadian Open over the last two years. Grillo ranks 9th overall in my model this week and projects as my favorite value on the board in Asheville. 

BILTMORE CHAMPIONSHIP ASHEVILLE CHAMPIONSHIP BETS: FIRST-ROUND LEADER (0.5 UNITS)

Davis Thompson

My Bet: +5500

Best Available Odds:

Thompson has long been at his best on easy-scoring venues that require a hot putter to stack birdies in bunches. I expect that will be necessary to set the pace at the Biltmore Championship Asheville, which features four reachable par-5s and plenty of short par-4s as well. Thompson ended the regular season in red-hot form with three straight top-15 finishes, and will be a threat to go low in Asheville if the six-week layoff hasn’t slowed him down. 

Blades Brown

My Bet: +6000

Best Available Odds:

At 19 years old, Blades Brown is one of the most promising young talents on the PGA Tour. He’s proven to be at his best on the easiest of scoring setups, and that goes hand-in-hand with any first-round leader hopeful. Brown’s combination of great Total Driving and spike approach and putting upside makes him a viable option to go low any given round. 

Emiliano Grillo

My Bet: +7000

Best Available Odds:

A bit of a positional course specialist over the course of his career, I love this course fit for Grillo’s game. Considering the odds, I believe his end-of-season form is going overlooked, as Grillo has finished T31-or-better in five of his last six starts. If the putter continues to stay hot, the rest of his game is primed to attack The Cliffs at Walnut Cove. 

Chris Kirk

My Bet: +7000 

Best Available Odds:

Unlike Grillo, Kirk’s recent form has all come in spite of the fact he has gotten nothing out of his putter in 2026. A six-week off-season may be a good thing in that regard, as he’s had plenty of time to fine-tune the flatstick. We’ve seen Kirk come out hot after a long layoff before, winning The Sentry atop the 2024 season. Putter aside, the rest of his game from tee-to-green is in good form and profiles well for the positional test ahead in Asheville. 

Ben Kohles

My Bet: +7200 

Best Available Odds:

Kohles was nearly a winner at the John Deere Classic earlier this summer before a slow and steady unraveling on Sunday. His inability to close on Sundays gives me pause to back him in the outright market, but there’s no denying his form and fit for The Cliffs at Walnut Cove at the moment. 

BILTMORE CHAMPIONSHIP ASHEVILLE CHAMPIONSHIP BETS: PROPS (2.0 UNITS)

Full Tournament Matchup: Ben James > Rasmus Hojgaard

My Bet: -125

From a course fit standpoint, The Cliffs at Walnut Cove is everything Rasmus Hojgaard hates to see. It cannot be overpowered with driver, mitigates any advantage for distance, and instead places a particular emphasis on precise ball-striking. Hojgaard found some recent success in spite of his poor approach play thanks to his elite driving distance and putting, but I don’t believe he’ll be able to get away with that at this week’s positional setup.

If it’s a positional battle we’re in store for, I much prefer James in this matchup, who ranked 2nd in SG: APP in his most recent start at the Wyndham Championship.

Top-20 Finish: Blades Brown

My Bet: +200

Brown has been a top-20 machine throughout his early career with six such finishes over his first nine career PGA Tour starts. For the first time, he’ll now be playing with the freedom of secured PGA Tour membership for the following season by way of his top-10 place on the Korn Ferry Tour season-long standings. Brown is skilled in all facets from tee-to-green, and has a game that travels course to course, regardless of setup.
