Best Bet: YRFI (TBD) at DraftKings

Best Bet: O7 (-116)

Score Prediction: Braves 6, Phillies 4

The Pick: Braves 6, Phillies 4

We’ll once again take the YRFI and the Over, hitting in Games 1 and 2 so we carry that data over into Game 3 with more conviction.

Game Betting Analysis

How do we not go back to the YRFI, hitting in both Games 1 and 2 at plus-value for us with the data continuing to carry over into Game 3. The YRFI has now hit in seven straight home games for the Braves, when facing the Phillies. For Atlanta, the YRFI has hit in seven of eight home games and six of seven games overall for Philadelphia. The Over has also been a secondary play in Games 1 and 2 that has also hit for us, so sticking with the total data the Over has hit in five straight meetings along with six straight playoff games for the Braves when playing during the daytime. To cap it all off, Atlanta has gone Over the total in six straight games when coming off extra innings.

Deciding Factor: Atlanta’s Pitching Puzzle vs. Schwarber and Harper’s Hot Bats

This one comes down to whether Atlanta’s unconventional pitching plan can actually neutralize the two hitters who just dragged Philadelphia back from elimination. The Braves are reportedly deploying Grant Holmes in a bulk role behind an opener specifically to avoid letting Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber see a soft early look, and for good reason — those two combined for back-to-back homers in the eighth inning of Game 2 before Alec Bohm’s 10th-inning blast completed the comeback. Atlanta dominated the regular-season series 9-4 and held Philadelphia to two runs or fewer in seven of those 13 meetings, but that formula required a normal, rested rotation — not a scrambled bullpen day built around matchup avoidance. If Holmes or whoever opens the game gives Schwarber and Harper even one mistake in the strike zone, Atlanta’s carefully drawn-up plan falls apart fast.

Philadelphia’s counter is its own bullpen math, and it’s shakier. The Phillies burned Jesús Luzardo and Andrew Painter across Games 1 and 2, closer Jhoan Duran threw 27 stressful pitches in a Game 1 loss and was unavailable in Game 2, and the 10-inning win means an already-thin relief corps enters on fumes. Atlanta’s bullpen posted a 3.44 ERA this season against Philadelphia’s 4.43, a gap that becomes more dangerous in a winner-take-all game where both managers are mixing and matching by the batter. Aaron Nola gives the Phillies length and a chance to keep this out of the pen early, but if Atlanta’s lineup gets to him and this turns into a battle of relievers, Atlanta’s deeper, better-rested arms hold the edge over a Philadelphia staff that’s already been pushed to its limit.
