Major League Soccer (MLS) returns to the pitch on Saturday, Feb. 21 with a full slate to welcome the American professional soccer league back. Below, we’ve broken down some of the top betting trends, insights and data to help you make decisions for wagering the opening weekend!

St. Louis City vs. Charlotte FC Top Trends

Top Trend: Over

Energizer Park saw the Over hit in 12 of 17 matches last season. St. Louis City saw the Over hit in 11 of its last 12 home matches, but is an expensive take. For those looking to hit the Over, perhaps looking at Over 3.5 for better value is the way to go or parlaying the Over 2.5 expense. St. Louis saw the Over hit 23 times out of 34 matches in 2025, but the price is a bit steep as Charlotte ended last season hitting the Under in four of five matches.

Verdict: Too expensive to play, try alternate goal total if desired

Orlando City vs. New York Red Bulls Top Trends

Top Trend: Over

Very similar to the above trend, Orlando City saw a lot of matches go Over the goal total when playing at home. Inter&Co Stadium saw 13 matches hit the Over compared to just four going Under with an average of 3.6 goals per match. Orlando City has also seen the BTS hit in an insane 17 straight MLS matches – so the odds of at least two goals, one from each club, seems reasonable. This all sounds too good to be a low -130, why? Because the Under has actually hit in four straight meetings played in Orlando.

Verdict: The Over is a tad expensive at -130 while the Under is a tad underprice at +100, but both are playable based on your desire

D.C. United vs. Philadelphia Union Top Trends

Top Trend: BTS No

This is a great trend to consider playing, as the BTS failing gets plus-money between D.C. United and Philadelphia. The Union have seen the BTS fail in six straight road matches, while the BTS has also failed to hit in three straight matches against D.C. United. Philly ended the 2025 campaign with 10 of 11 matches failing to see the BTS hit, while D.C. United only averaged 2.6 goals per home match last year.

Verdict: BTS No at +120 is a viable underdog selection

FC Dallas vs. Toronto FC Top Trends

Top Trend: Under

Toronto was one of the most profitable O/U teams in 2025 with 23 of 34 matches going Under – most of which for plus-money due to the MLS goal scoring rep oddsmakers have for the league. Toronto went Under in eight of nine road matches and 12 of 14 matches overall to close out 2025. Dallas as a goal scoring unit can go either way, a bit unpredictable, but it should be noted that in the last five meetings between Dallas and Toronto the O/U has not hit in back-to-back games. The Over hit last meeting.

Verdict: Under 2.5 for +105 is a viable underdog selection
