The final four of the Champions League are set, with PSG and Bayern Munich kicking things off in a heavyweight bout on Tuesday afternoon. The reigning European Champions will host Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes at 3:00 p.m. ET.

Bayern enters the first leg of the semifinal as the slight favorites to advance to the final, set to take place in Hungary at the end of May. These teams have met just three times over the past two seasons, with PSG losing the last match 2-1 to the German powerhouses during the group stage of this competition.

Both clubs have been exceptional this season, and football fans are in for a treat in what’s shaping up to be an all-time tie between the Champions of France and the Champions of Germany.

PSG vs. Bayern Munich Odds & Analysis

Despite a stressful tie in the quarterfinals, oddsmakers have Bayern Munich as the favorites not only to defeat PSG but also to win the tournament in its entirety.

Real Madrid nearly pulled off a miraculous comeback against Kompany’s squad in the quarterfinals, who ended up winning 6-4 on aggregate. Madrid’s three first-half goals had the Spanish side level with Bayern for much of the match before goals from Luis Diaz and Michael Olise in the 89th and 94th minutes shut the door on Los Blancos.

Now, Bayern will face their toughest opponent of the season – a PSG squad that appears to be reaching its peak at the right moment.

Luis Enrique and company have made quick work of the Champions League knockout rounds this season. After defeating Chelsea 8-2 on aggregate in the Round of 16, PSG then battered another English club, Liverpool, 4-0, in the quarterfinals. The reigning UCL winners defeated the Reds 2-0 both at home and at Anfield, with a solid all-around showing heading into the final four.

In the end, football fans can rejoice as the two clubs many believed would still be standing on this side of the bracket now prepare to face off. PSG vs. Bayern Munich will feature some of the most exciting young talent in the world, all on one pitch.

The Paris faithful will be conflicted as their countryman, Olise, faces off against PSG for just the third time in his career. The French winger has been one of the best players in the Champions League, and a large part of one of the most prolific attacking trios alongside Diaz and Harry Kane.

They will be up against a PSG attack that isn’t too bad itself. Spearheaded by last year’s Ballon d’Or winner, Ousmane Dembele, Enrique has options up front with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue as the most likely duo to start alongside him.

While both sides undoubtedly have strong attacks, PSG has had the upper hand over many of their opponents in the midfield and defense. Bayern’s quality in these areas should not be downplayed; however, over the past two seasons, Enrique’s side has outplayed every other club in these areas.

The midfield pairing of Vitinha and Joao Neves will be critical for PSG’s success in this tie. If Bayern’s Joshua Kimmich and Aleksander Pavlovic allow for the Portuguese pairing to dictate play in the center of the pitch, PSG will create a ton of chances – especially at home.

Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League DFS Picks

Our lineup for Tuesday’s match is headlined by Demebele in the captain spot. The French attacker scored two goals in the second leg against Liverpool and currently has 5 G/A in eight UCL starts this season. Demebele has shown up for Enrique in the biggest games and will do so again here.

Our first flex position will be Colombian superstar Diaz. Bayern’s right winger has benefited greatly from playing alongside Kane and Olise, and has had by far the best season of his career. The 29-year-old has 9 G/A in the UCL to go alongside his 28 G/A in the Bundesliga. Diaz has scored or assisted in three of his last five matches across all competitions and will surely be a threat to do so again here.

Our next player in this lineup is Vitinha. The PSG midfielder has been regarded as one of the best, if not the best, midfielders in the world over the last two seasons. The Portuguese international controls the tempo in the midfield and creates a lot of possessions for his club through his defensive pressure. While he doesn’t always generate goal contributions, Vitinha is a solid pick due to the plethora of other stats he racks up throughout the game.

We went with Bayern midfielders Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich as the next two flex options in the lineup. Since returning from injury, Musiala has quickly returned to the top form we all came to know him for. The attacking midfielder has scored or assisted in each of his last five matches, and in three of his last four Champions League appearances.

His German teammate, Kimmich, continues to shine in Bayern’s midfield, as he has for many years. The 31-year-old has not missed a step this season and is still considered one of the top CDM’s in the world. Kimmich will have a tough task at hand, but his experience, as well as elite form as of late, make him a great option for this match.

We rounded out our lineup with PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov. The Russian international has come into his own this season, stepping up as PSG’s first-choice keeper unexpectedly. Safonov has kept a clean sheet in four of his last five starts and will have plenty of work to do against a Bayern squad that is sure to generate plenty of chances throughout this match. While a clean sheet is likely not on the table here, Safonov will be called upon to make many saves in this match.
