We’ll take the Golden State spread based on Dallas’ struggles both against the Valkyries and Western Conference favorites.
Game Betting Analysis
We’ll side with the Golden State spread for a few reasons, many of which are similar to why we liked them in Game 1 – Dallas struggles against winning teams in the Western Conference. As it was in Game 1, Dallas failed to cover the spread against a Western Conference team as the underdog – marking seven straight games. Also, Dallas has failed to cover the spread in now six of eight games against Golden State including the last four. So the easy data is taking Golden State to cover. The total is also a mess, while the Over has hit in five of six meetings – the Under has hit in 15 of 19 home games for Dallas this season. The Wings have also seen the Under hit in nine of 10 home games against the Western Conference. With the total dilemma, we’ll stick with the Valkyries’ spread.

Deciding Factor: Golden State’s Three-Point Blitz vs. Dallas’s One-Woman Show
The Valkyries buried this one with a 37-11 second quarter that turned a manageable game into a 58-31 halftime blowout on the way to a franchise-record 104-80 win. Golden State shot a scorching 18-of-36 from three for the game — 10-of-20 in the first half alone — and got it from everywhere: Cecilia Zandalasini’s 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting with four threes, Gabby Williams’ 20, and Tiffany Hayes adding 21 off the bench, with Kayla Thornton and Veronica Burton chipping in 10 apiece.
Paige Bueckers was nearly perfect and it still wasn’t close — 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting, 17 of them in the first half, with 6 rebounds. But Dallas got nothing around her: Jessica Shepard, a regular triple-double threat, was held scoreless, and the team shot just 6-of-20 from three while the perimeter defense cracked wide open. Down 1-0 and now hosting Game 2, the Wings need secondary scoring to materialize and a defensive identity that doesn’t evaporate for a 37-point quarter again.
