Clark continues to play through her back injury, and she’s done so with particular efficacy recently. The star guard comes into Thursday’s matchup with a six-game streak of 20-point-plus tallies, a span in which she’s averaging 24.5 points on 46.2% shooting, including 39.2% from three-point range. Clark is averaging a robust 17.2 field-goal attempts in that sample while also draining 79.5% of her 6.5 free-throw attempts per contest.
Clark’s Thursday opponent, the Wings, are now down Azzi Fudd (knee) in the backcourt for the rest of the season, and Dallas has already given up one 29-point tally to Clark in two meetings this season. She went 11-for-18 from the floor in that game, and Dallas checks in surrendering a 46.0% success rate from the floor overall in 2026. Clark’s hot hand and the short-handed nature of the Wings backcourt both brighten her outlook for the marquee matchup.

Fudd’s absence for the rest of the season should open up some additional usage for the rest of the Wings’ backcourt. Bueckers already comes into Thursday’s matchup in very good recent form, as she’s averaging 21.2 points on 49.3% shooting over her last 13 games. Bueckers is also putting up 20.3 field-goal + free-throw attempts per contest in that span, and she could be even busier in Thursday’s marquee matchup.
The talented guard has lit up the Fever for 20 and 29 points in two prior meetings this season, a sample where she’s drained an elite 61.3% of her shots from the field. The Fever is also surrendering the fifth-most points per game to guards (47.8), and Bueckers has a hit rate of well over 50% on the Over for the 20.5 (19 of 34 games), while also finishing on the hook with 20 on two other occasions. Then, no team has surrendered more free-throw attempts per game to guards than Indiana (12.3), while Bueckers is shooting 87.0% from the line for the season.

Gray is another guard that’s been on an upward trajectory of late, as she’ll enter Thursday’s favorable matchup already boasting a hot hand. Gray is putting up 28.8 points + rebounds + assists across 33.3 minutes per contest in the last 10 games, a stretch where she’s shooting a blistering 49.7%. The veteran is now facing a Sparks team that’s had trouble defending guards all season, boosting her prospects.
Los Angeles is conceding a WNBA-high 51.1 points per game to guards, along with the third-most rebounds (12.0) and fourth-most assists (14.0) per contest to the position. Additionally, the Sparks have conceded 39.8% three-point shooting to guards, and Gray is shooting a vastly improved 43.2% from behind the arc in her last six contests. She also posted 23 points + rebounds + assists on 8-for-15 shooting in her one prior meeting with LA back on July 13, and she’s been more active as both a rebounder and facilitator since that point (6.6 rebounds + assists in her subsequent 11 contests).
