These two split their previous games, with the 49ers winning in Week 1 and the Seahawks winning in Week 18. Both games were tightly contested, and like most divisional games, they were low-scoring. NFL Divisional Round TD Picks: 49ers-Seahawks Anytime TD Scorers (Saturday, January 17)

The total sits at 44.5 at DraftKings Sportsbook and the line for total touchdowns is 4.5, although there is juice on the over (-166 at DraftKings). It’s a divisional matchup, which means both teams know each other very well. That tends to lead to fewer points than expected, but there are reasons to expect some scoring.

The defense for the San Francisco 49ers has been among the worst in the NFL and is struggling with injuries. The Seattle Seahawks have arguably the best defense in the league, but Kyle Shanahan might be the offensive coach in the game. I don’t think we’ll see fireworks, but I’ll be surprised if we don’t see at least a couple of touchdowns. Let’s make some money betting on who is going to score those touchdowns. 49ers vs. Seahawks Anytime Touchdown Picks: AJ Barner (+175)

The San Francisco 49ers are bottom ten in every category when it comes to stopping opposing tight ends. AJ Barner has the second most targets, the most red zone targets, and the second most end zone targets of any player on the Seattle Seahawks. Sam Darnold looks for him constantly throughout the game.

This matchup means more chances for Barner to run routes. The 49ers’ pass rush isn’t good enough to force Barner to have to block all game, and injuries to San Francisco’s linebacking core mean less than capable defenders will be guarding Barner. At this price, AJ Barner as an anytime touchdown scorer is well worth a wager.

Seahawks vs. 49ers Anytime TD Predictions: Jake Tonges (+310)

Unfortunately, George Kittle tore his Achilles’ tendon last weekend. When it comes to predicting how the 49ers’ offense will operate, this paves the way for Jake Tonges to step into a huge role. Tonges led the 49ers in targets in games Kittle missed this season, and he should lead them in targets this week. The Seattle Seahawks’ defense is great, but opponents have had success throwing to their tight ends. Even if Ricky Pearsall can play for San Francisco this week, I expect Tonges to be the team’s best wide receiver, and his price in the anytime touchdown market is not set accordingly. At these odds, I’ll happily bet on Jake Tonges as an anytime touchdown scorer.
