FanDuel Florida: When Will it Launch? (October Update)
Contents
Florida is the third-largest state in the country with around 21 million people and is home to two NBA teams, three NFL teams, two NHL teams, two MLB teams, and three major NCAA programs at the University of Florida, University of Miami, and Florida State.
Florida sports fans will be highly anticipating the launch of sports betting in the state, which could occur later in 2024. In April 2021, Governor Ron DeSantis signed a new compact with the Seminole tribe that will bring statewide mobile sports wagering to Florida. The compact was a 30-year extension that guaranteed the Seminoles exclusivity over sports gambling in Florida; outside sportsbooks will need to agree to contracts with the Seminoles to establish operations in Florida. FanDuel, originally one of the leading Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) providers, is now one of the leading sportsbooks in the country. There’s no doubt that Florida will be a highly valuable sports gambling market, and we fully expect FanDuel to make a strong push to be one of the early sportsbooks to negotiate a deal with the Seminoles.

FanDuel Wagers Overview
Our staff loves FanDuel Sportsbook, and their massive, diverse range of bet types is a huge reason why. In addition to the typical spread, Moneyline, and points total bets, FanDuel offers one of the largest markets for prop bets in the sports gambling industry. FanDuel Sportsbook also offers Same Game Parlay bets where bettors can accumulate several specific bets from the same game and parlay them together for a great payout. FanDuel also offers a staggering number of player and team prop bets for every contest, as well as a fully immersive live betting catalog. FanDuel’s Odds Boosts are also some of the best in the industry. While some other sportsbooks may claim to offer this same level of diversity and customization in their betting, no other sportsbook presents such a complex and diversified betting catalog in such a seamless, user-friendly fashion.
Top 3 Reasons to Bet With FanDuel
FanDuel is one of the very best sportsbooks available across the country, and it has established itself as one of the top providers in a highly competitive marketplace. There are a number of reasons you should consider betting with FanDuel over other sportsbooks, but our staff has accumulated three of the top reasons why FanDuel stands out above its competitors.
Superb User Interface
The FanDuel Sportsbook website and mobile application are arguably the most user-friendly, intuitive platforms in the sports betting industry. FanDuel has done an excellent job of creating a massive sport betting catalogue with diverse, complex offerings without making it overly complicated for users to find the wager they are looking for. It’s very easy to track your live and upcoming wagers, as well as your long-term future bets. The FanDuel interface is very accessible and highly functional for a wide range of bettors, from seasoned pros to fresh newbies.
Outstanding Signup Offer
In many states, FanDuel has offered a $1,000 No Sweat bet when it launches. In addition to FanDuel offering one of the best signup bonuses in the industry, it also allows for a complete lack of playthrough requirements. Successful bettors can withdraw their winnings immediately if desired following their initial bet.
Bettor-Friendly Offerings
While many sportsbooks cut corners to put bettors at a disadvantage, FanDuel offers so many user-friendly promotions and bonuses. Between high-value Same Game Parlays, exciting Odds Boosts, and a massive selection of prop bet markets, it’s clear that FanDuel’s primary goal is to offer an excellent experience to its users rather than simply maximize its potential for profit. FanDuel is one of the most user-friendly sportsbooks in the United States.
FanDuel Florida Future Bet
Miami Dolphins to Win the Super Bowl +1400
Imagine the Miami Dolphins have a better-than-.500 record later in the season. If the team had a stellar offense and an above-average defense, then FanDuel would post odds giving the Dolphins legitimate odds to win the next Super Bowl. Imagine the Dolphins have +1400 odds, then a Miami fan could bet $100 on a future bet. If a bettor made a $100 bet and the Dolphins won the next Super Bowl, then the bettor would receive $1400 in winnings plus the original $100 stake. That same goes with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the Jacksonville Jaguars. As long as a NFL team has not been eliminated from Super Bowl contention, FanDuel will have a future bet on their Super Bowl success. Top teams might have odds between +600 and +900, while most other playoff teams would have odds between +1000 and +3000. Long shots would have odds of +5000 to +20000 or more. FanDuel updates these odds throughout the season, depending on team records, key injuries, and other breaking news.
Florida Legal Sports Betting History
Florida has been working towards this moment for the past few years, and the pieces are finally in place to kick off sports gambling in earnest later this year or early next year. In April 2021, Governor Ron DeSantis signed an extension with the Seminole tribe with their gaming compact extended 30 years. In exchange for exclusivity in the sports gambling industry, the Seminoles guaranteed the state of Florida $2.5 billion over the next five years and $400-500 million over the following 25 years of the compact. Some Florida residents were upset with this decision as, in 2018, state voters approved an amendment to the Florida constitution that gave voters the power to vote on future gaming expansion matters – there was no vote on this Seminole compact extension.
Nonetheless, Florida stood to lose out on an annual gaming payment of around $330 million if the Seminoles didn’t get their way, so this was certainly a high-leverage situation. While the Seminoles do have exclusivity over sports gambling in Florida, they will grant partnerships with various sportsbooks to grant access to the sports gambling market. In May 2021, the Florida legislature approved this new compact extension and put in place the necessary instruments to allow sports gambling to launch by October 15. However, this compact still needs to pass through federal legislation, and that includes approval by the Department of the Interior. There is still some legal dissonance surrounding this issue as legal experts disagree on the legality of tribal operation of mobile sports betting outside of the borders of tribal lands. The potential violation of the constitutional amendment is another issue that will need to be resolved. Due to these complex legal hang-ups, it’s unlikely that Florida fully launches sports gambling until late 2024 at the earliest.

Is FanDuel Florida legal?
Florida legislators have approved legislation that will grant the Seminole tribe exclusive rights over sports betting in the state, with outside sportsbooks needing to negotiate deals with the tribe. This is still pending federal approval, however, and FanDuel will need to go through the negotiation process before having jurisdiction in Florida.
What is the largest bonus offer with FanDuel Florida?
FanDuel offers one of the best signup bonuses in the sports betting industry. In many states in the past, new users were eligible for a no sweat first bet up to $1,000 at signup using the Lineups.com link. This bet required a minimum bet of $10 and had no playthrough requirement, meaning users could withdraw immediately following winning their initial bet.
Is it safe to give FanDuel my Social Security Number?
Yes, FanDuel Sportsbook passes the Lineups.com 3-Point Check, meaning it’s fully licensed in the United States and safe to play with. All legal sportsbooks in the United States will require you to provide your Social Security Number in order to verify your identity.
What is a Same Game Parlay on FanDuel?
Same Game Parlays are one of my favorite features on FanDuel, and they can allow for some huge paydays for bettors. If you love a specific team in a specific game, you can bet on their money line, the total to go over, and their quarterback to throw for over 300 yards, for example, and maximize your odds for a huge payout.
Can I register for FanDuel Florida online?
Yes, FanDuel offers easy registration online in a matter of minutes in states where they currently operate, and I have found their identity verification process to be much more seamless than some other sportsbooks. Make sure to use our link to get the best signup offer!
Does FanDuel have a mobile application?
Yes, FanDuel has a mobile application that is available on the Apple App Store for iOS devices and on the Google Play Store for Android devices. The FanDuel website is also optimized for mobile usage, so it isn’t necessary to download the app. Both options are very user-friendly.
Why should I pick FanDuel over Bovada?
Offshore sportsbooks like Bovada have been heavily utilized in states that have not legalized sports gambling yet. However, once states launch their sports gambling, FanDuel is the easy choice over Bovada for easy banking options, reliable live betting, and seamless user experience compared to an often clunky Bovada website.
Why does FanDuel need my Geolocation?
Officially licensed United States sportsbooks will require your Geolocation in order to verify your location. If you are in a state that has sports gambling legalized and FanDuel is licensed, you can bet with FanDuel even if you aren’t a resident of that particular state.
What is the legal betting age in Florida?
The legal betting age for Florida residents is 21 years old for casino games and 18 years old for lottery games, horse racing, dog racing, bingo, and poker. All but four states require residents to be at least 21 years old to take part in sports betting (in those states, you must be 18+ years old), and we expect Florida to follow suit with the majority of the country.

Summary
FanDuel’s $1,000 no sweat first bet is just the start of its great offerings for bettors. From Same Game Parlays to Odds Boosts to a massive prop bet market selection to Parlay Insurance to live betting and more, FanDuel has more ways to play than any other sportsbook. FanDuel’s web design and user interface stand above all other sportsbooks, and the platform offers a wide range of banking options to make it easy for all bettors to deposit and withdraw money. FanDuel has occasional connectivity issues, especially during huge sporting contests, so live betting is a bit of a nuisance at times, but it isn’t catastrophically bad. More user interaction and more loyalty programs would be nice. Still, overall, it’s very tough to beat FanDue Sportsbook with its phenomenal combination of excellent design and diverse betting offerings in a trustworthy, highly reliable sportsbook.
