The Huskies face several difficult matchups against playoff-caliber opponents, and the week-to-week grind of the Big Ten can quickly expose roster depth concerns. Washington also remains relatively early in its transition under coach Jedd Fisch compared to more established programs.

Washington should remain competitive with quarterback Demond Williams Jr. leading the offense, but it’s difficult to see the Huskies fully unseating the top tier of the conference just yet. The Big Ten remains loaded with playoff-caliber rosters, while Washington still appears to be a step behind the elite programs in terms of overall depth and recruiting talent.

Win Total Odds:

Washington’s win total is currently at 8.5, juiced to the under at -175. Considering that this team won nine games last year, we’re getting decent value on the over at +145.

A major reason is the return of quarterback Demond Williams Jr., who emerged as one of the Big Ten’s most dynamic playmakers during the 2025 season. Williams threw for more than 3,000 yards while adding 611 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns, giving the Washington Huskies one of the conference’s higher-upside offenses entering 2026.

There’s also reason to believe Washington can improve offensively in Year 3 under coach Jedd Fisch. The Huskies averaged more than 45 points per game in their nine victories last season, and Williams now enters the year with significantly more experience as a full-time starter.

The schedule is obviously challenging because of the Big Ten depth, but the market may be slightly overreacting here. Washington avoids Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines during the regular season, which gives the Huskies a more manageable path toward nine wins than some other Big Ten contenders.

At plus-money odds, there’s enough value to justify backing Washington to hit the over here.
