Using the Mobile App

The mobile app is now up and running for everyone located in the state of NJ. It had initially been rolled out to select users as a beta phase but now is available for everyone’s use. You must be within state lines in order to bet, the geofence on the app is accurate and knows when you are in the state of NJ. When you are not in the state, it wont even let you get to the betting home page. Proxies won’t work on the desktop product as you’ll need to verify identity through documentation upload.

Every time you log into the app you must type in your password a number of times, which can be frustrating. Merger Only the Beginning of its Rise

DraftKings is going public this upcoming year after completing a $3.3 billion merger with Diamond Eagle Acquisition Corporation and SBTech. The deal was approved by all sides at the end of last month and is due to go into effect sometime in January.

The company will be led by co-founder and CEO Jason Robins and will be the only vertically integrated U.S. sports betting company. Diamond Eagle will officially change its name to DraftKings and get a new Nasdaq ticker once the deal officially closes. Paul Liberman and Matt Kalish of Diamond Eagle will work on the management team for DraftKings alongside executive Robins.

Originally the company had plans to merge with FanDuel; however, that deal fell apart when the Federal Trade Commission threatened filed a lawsuit to stop the deal. However, Robins found a new partner in Diamond Eagle and plans to take the company to new heights following this deal.

So what does this mean for the public? For one, expect to see more promotions and rewards being offered online. The site will also likely expand to include more features and give you opportunities to make money in different ways.
