The 2026 NBA Play-In Tournament is set to begin on Tuesday, April 14 and will run through Friday, April 17. Teams ranked seventh-10th in each conference will compete for the final NBA Playoffs spots.

2026 NBA Play-In Tournament Format

To begin, the No. 7 seed will face off against the No. 8 seed in which the winning team will advance into the NBA Playoffs as the No. 7 seeded representative. The loser of that game isn’t eliminated, however.

The No. 9 seed will face off against the No. 10 seed in which the losing team is eliminated. However, the winning team will go on to face the losing team from the No. 7 vs. No. 8 matchup. The winner of this game will enter the NBA Playoffs as the No. 8 seeded representative.
