Houston Texans Schedule 2020 Houston Texans Schedule

The first four weeks of the Texans’ schedule are absolutely brutal. They open the season on the road against the team that embarrassed them with a 24-point comeback in the playoffs, the Chiefs, before heading back home to take on the team with the best record in football last season, the Ravens. As if that isn’t bad enough, they go on the road to Heinz Field in Week 3 to take on one of the best defensive teams in the league and a should-be much-improved offense with Big Ben back. Home matchups against the Vikings and Packers are also on the slate before their Week 8 bye - those two teams both made the playoffs last year. The second half of the schedule opens up a ton for the Texans, with only one opponent who had a record above 9-7 last year (the Patriots, who lost Tom Brady). It may not matter at that point, though - if they go into their bye week with a 3-5 or 2-6 record, the season might be over before it really started. A Thanksgiving day matchup against the Lions should be a fun encounter, but I have a hard time seeing how the Texans surpass their 10-6 record with this slate which ranks as the 10th-toughest in terms of expected win totals for their opponents.
