The 2026 BMW Championship has reached the final round, and it is starting to feel like Shinnecock Hills 2.0. Wyndham Clark is playing a different course thus far, separating on moving day and building a 5-stroke lead at 17-under-par. If he is to be caught on Sunday, it will require a tremendous effort from Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay, Chris Gotterup, or Gary Woodland, the only players within six strokes of Clark’s lead.

Looking ahead, we have new data at our disposal to adjust our approach in DFS formats before Round 4 gets underway on Sunday. Conditions were wet from overnight rain to begin the week, but the course will continue to get firmer as the week goes on. Ahead, we’ll look to identify the players who have shown they are most due for a Round 4 breakout.

Take a look at some of the best pillar players for the 2026 BMW Championship DFS contests and live betting opportunities.

DraftKings Showdown Golf Strategy

DraftKings Golf Showdown Golf is a one-round Daily Fantasy format in which players aim to construct the best-scoring one-round lineup while staying within the allotted salary cap. To identify value in Golf Showdown, it’s typically best to focus on buy-low opportunities on players who’ve shown uncharacteristically poor putting in the prior round. There is also an opportunity to find leverage by identifying favorable weather splits and players who are more likely to card birdies-or-better.

Round 4 BMW Championship Showdown Pillar Plays

As expected, ball-striking form and sheer distance have prevailed thus far at Bellerive Country Club. Unlike last week at TPC Southwind, distance is a huge asset here, especially for elite Total Drivers who can consistently pull short-iron approaches from the fairway into these receptive greens. Likewise, it is the most skilled approach players who stand the best opportunity to generate birdie opportunities here. Looking ahead, it is going to take a combination of driving distance, elite iron play, and a streaky putter to go low at Bellerive Country Club.

Identifying value players who check each of these boxes can provide valuable bonus points in the DraftKings Showdown format. The three players below will be foundational plays in my Round 4 Showdown lineups for these reasons.

Wyndham Clark ($9,400)

No one has been in the same stratosphere as Clark through the first three rounds at Bellerive Country Club, and it does not seem like he intends to slow down. He’ll have a very compelling case for 2026 PGA Tour Player of the Year if he adds a FedEx Cup Playoff victory to his major-winning season.

Clark started the playoffs on a high note, finishing T5 at last week’s FedEx St Jude Championship. Having the hot hand is half the battle when it comes to the FedEx Cup Playoffs, as it is far too late in the season for most players to find their form if they haven’t by now. The two-time U.S. Open champion has fit Bellerive Country Club perfectly, as his strengths lie in his distance off the tee and long-iron approach proficiency. He’ll be a very popular choice in round 4 Showdown, but having proven he can sleep on a big lead and still thrive at the US Open earlier this season, I’m comfortable eating the chalk here.

Patrick Cantlay ($8,900)

No player is better when the pressure of winning is out of reach than Patrick Cantlay. There is a chance for him to erase his five-stroke deficit to Wyndham Clark on Sunday with a great final round, but realistically, he is slotting into a familiar role of playing for second place.

Cantlay is tied for 2nd with Rory McIlroy heading into the final round, and has played arguably the best golf of his season this week, ranking top-5 in SG: OTT, SG: APP, and SG: ARG. He’s been a bottom-10 putter this week, so if he’s able to make any improvements on the greens on Sunday, he’s laid a great foundation for a strong finish.

Jacob Bridgeman ($6,700)

It may be too little, too late, but Jacob Bridgeman is doing everything he can to justify a captain’s selection in next month’s Presidents Cup. After an incredible start to the 2026 season which included a Signature Event win at the Genesis Invitational, Bridgeman is coming back for a second wind now. He’s finished top-40 in seven consecutive starts leading in, and is currently 14th through three rounds at 6-under-par.

Bridgeman is an accurate ball-striker with elite putting skill when he has his game altogether, and that is what we saw from him on Saturday. He ranked 4th in SG: APP and 13th in SG: Putting in round 3, en route to an impressive 4-under-par showing on moving day. Bridgeman is comfortably in the field next week at East Lake, but has a great opportunity in front of him to claim a lucrative top-10 finish at Bellerive.

Live Bets To Consider Entering Round 4

Round 2 Matchup: Nicolai Hojgaard over Ben Griffin

Best Available odds: +100

Things have unraveled quickly for Ben Griffin, who came into this week 5th in the Presidents Cup points list, but is not in jeopardy of being surpassed by Chris Gotterup and Wyndham Clark to bounce him out of automatic qualifying. Truth be told, that’s a result USA golf fans may be hoping for, as Griffin has fallen off significantly in 2026 relative to the excellent 2025 campaign that has lifted him to this point.

Hojgaard is the more appealing upside play in this matchup, profiling perfectly as an elite total driver and streaky approach player. Hojgaard ranked 1st in SG: OTT and 3rd in SG: T2G on Saturday. If he can remain dialed off-the-tee, he’ll have a significant edge over Griffin in this matchup.

Top 10 Finisher: Michael Brennan

Best Available odds: +130

Brennan may be running on fumes at this point, playing in his 7th consecutive week. That fatigue has not shown itself yet for the 24-year-old, who continues to look sharp at T12 for the tournament.

Brennan is an ideal course fit, and has not wavered with his ball-striking and putting form in St. Louis. Distance is distinctly advantageous at Bellerive Country Club, and that is Brennan’s superpower, ranking 6th in Driving Distance and 11th in SG: OTT. If he continues to position himself well off-the-tee, he stands a great opportunity to push inside the top-10.

Best of luck with your BMW Championship DFS lineups and bets!
