Polymarket Review: Is Polymarket Legit?
My Verdict
Our reviewer rated Polymarket 4.2 out of 5, among the stronger prediction market apps we cover. Strong market coverage and banking drove that number; weak customer support dragged on it.
Politics, sports, crypto, and every other category we check was live and trading, sports depth went past what our usual 27-league checklist expects, and a real $18.61 withdrawal came back in under a day across six confirmed funding methods.
Where Polymarket gets complicated is liquidity. Our reviewer paid roughly 4% round-trip on a busy, flagship market, almost entirely platform fees rather than a bad fill. Pick a thin market instead, though, and that number jumped to 33.6%, a clear signal that market choice matters more here than the headline score suggests.
A $10 deposit through our link currently returns $25 in trading credit, one of the better ratios we’ve found in this vertical. Polymarket’s own sign-up flow won’t show you that offer on its own, so a partner link is genuinely the only route to it.
Testing Evidence

Fast money in, fast money out
Our reviewer put $10 into a Texas Senate race and pulled $9.60 back out 18 minutes later, barely a dent for a full round trip.

A slower market, a bigger bite
Holding a single-player NFL touchdown prop over two days cost nearly a third of the stake on exit, and this wasn’t some obscure, thinly traded listing.

Cash out, clocked
A $18.61 withdrawal request showed up in the bank account one day later.

Two tries at support, no human either time

Seven tools, three present
Deposit caps, self-exclusion, and a crisis-line tie-in are live; the other four trader-protection tools aren’t.

Eight for eight, category by category
Promotions | 3.6 / 5
This category exists to separate a welcome offer’s real value from its marketing headline. Here, that means a $10 deposit through our link returning $25 in trading credit, a 2.5-to-1 multiple that holds up well next to competitors.
Try creating an account directly on Polymarket’s own site, skipping our link, and no welcome offer appears at all. Worth knowing before anyone assumes this credit is simply standard.
Polymarket’s Referral Program
A separate referral program runs year-round: refer a friend, they deposit and trade $25 of their own, and both sides earn $25 in credit, up to $1,250 total per account. Beyond that, nothing else: no reload match, no cashback tier, no leaderboard prize pool.

Why We Rated Promotions 3.6 / 5
Few prediction markets we’ve reviewed beat a 2.5-to-1 welcome ratio, and Polymarket clears that bar easily. The only drag: that offer is invisible unless a trader comes through a partner link like ours.
Market Coverage | 4.6 / 5
Market Coverage is our check on what’s actually tradeable, not what a homepage promises. All eight of our tracked categories came back live on Polymarket. Both Politics and Sports went well past the 500-listing mark, where an exact count stops mattering, while real depth also showed up in Crypto, Economics, Culture, Climate, and Tech & Science.
| Category | Live & Confirmed |
|---|---|
| Politics | Yes (500+) |
| Sports | Yes (500+) |
| Crypto | Yes |
| Economics & Business | Yes |
| Culture & Entertainment | Yes |
| Climate & Weather | Yes |

The league list undersells how deep this actually goes
Our usual 27-league checklist already found 14 leagues clearing a real five-market floor, everything from the NFL and NBA down to Esports and Rugby. Scroll Polymarket’s own menu, though, and regional leagues like Spain’s Liga ACB or Australia’s NBL turn up nested under broader sport tabs, well outside what any standard checklist asks for. The top-level categories threw two curveballs too: Midterms gets split out from general Politics entirely, and Commodities is a full, standalone tab rather than something buried under another heading.

A combo feature lets traders stitch several individual markets into a single position, the platform’s own answer to a parlay, available both as pre-built products and through a builder tool. Whether one part of that combo can exit early, ahead of the others resolving, is something our testing left unanswered.
Why We Gave Market Coverage a 4.6 / 5
Every single category we checked came back live, plus sports depth that outruns our own checklist, puts Polymarket near the top of this vertical. Only a comparatively thin Crypto lineup kept the needle from landing on a perfect score.
Banking | 4.8 / 5
Banking asks two things: can money move easily in both directions, and does anything beyond the trading fee quietly take a cut? Six working methods turned up in our testing: card, Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo, ACH transfer, and wire, with crypto available only for funding in, not pulling out.

| Banking Detail | What We Found |
|---|---|
| Deposit methods | 7 total: PayPal, Apple Pay, card, wire, Venmo, ACH, plus crypto for funding in only |
| Minimum deposit | $10 |
| Withdrawal, tested | $18.61 requested, received in under 24 hour |
| Settlement speed | Instant on our tested market; Polymarket states roughly 25 minutes generally |
| Trading fee | Formula-based, tied to how close a contract sits to 50 cents |
| Interest on idle cash | None found |
Our own $18.61 cash-out beat that promise comfortably, landing in-account inside a single day, not a quoted estimate we had to take on faith.

Separately, a touchdown-market position we held paid out the instant the game ended, well under Polymarket’s own general 25-minute settlement window. Letting cash sit idle, though, earns nothing extra.

Why We Rated Banking 4.8 / 5
Six real ways to move money, plus a withdrawal that beat its own promised window, puts this near the top of everything we tested here. The only ding: finding the fee takes one extra tap most traders won’t expect.
Liquidity | 3.9 / 5
Liquidity answers a different question than the fee schedule does: what does it actually cost to get in and back out of a position? Our reviewer ran two real $10 trades side by side, a busy, well-known market against a quiet one, and tracked the full round trip on each.
We put $10 into the Texas Senate Election Winner market (the James Talarico contract) at a 70-cent share price, then closed out 18 minutes later at that unchanged 70 cents, for $9.60 back. Almost that entire gap traced back to the platform’s own fee, not any real move in price.
A quieter pick behaved very differently. A single-player NFL touchdown prop went in at $9.89, 16 cents a share, and after holding the full two days our protocol requires, came out at a realized 12 cents against a 15% quote, for just $6.57 back. That 33.6% round-trip cost blends a real price swing against the position with a genuine gap between the quoted price and what we actually got filled at.

Neither trade gave us a real look at order-book depth; both the app and the desktop site show only a single top price, nothing underneath it.

Neither trade gave us a real look at order-book depth; both the app and the desktop site show only a single top price, nothing underneath it.
Why We Rated Liquidity 3.9 / 5
Our busy-market trade barely cost anything round-trip, but the same test on a thinner market burned through nearly a third of the stake. Real depth is there at the surface, it just thins out fast the moment you step off Polymarket’s most popular listings.
Customer Support | 3.9 / 5
Customer Support is less about a platform’s own pitch and more about what happens the moment a trader asks something real. A phone line isn’t part of the setup, but live chat, email, and a thorough FAQ all are.
Polly, Polymarket’s built-in AI, nailed every question we threw at it, including a surprisingly specific breakdown of why a fill can land below the quoted price. Getting an actual human on the line, though, proved impossible across two separate live-chat sessions totaling more than five hours. What made the wait sting even more: requesting a human handoff from Polly cuts off any path back to a fresh AI chat, leaving a trader with neither option at all.

A dedicated path for disputing a market outcome simply isn’t there. Disputes instead get absorbed by Polymarket’s own Terms, which force individual arbitration in New York and close off any class-action path entirely.
Why We Gave Customer Support a 3.9 / 5
Polly’s answers were sharp every time we asked, but sharp AI can’t substitute for a human who never showed up across two real attempts. Not being able to restart that AI chat afterward makes the gap feel worse than the wait alone.
User Experience & Responsible Trading | 4.1 / 5
This score blends two questions: does the app itself hold up day to day, and are real trader-protection tools actually built in? Polymarket covers iOS, Android, and desktop, plus a mobile-only extra, Squads, for sharing and copying a friend’s trades.

Cash sitting free and money locked inside an open position show up as two distinct numbers on the balance screen, not blended into one confusing total.

Every deposit, trade, and withdrawal lands in a full history log, though no 1099 ever gets generated, meaning gains are entirely on the trader to report. A genuine, publicly documented API exists too, free to use; our Polymarket API guide covers what it can actually do.
| Trader-Protection Tool | Present? |
|---|---|
| Deposit / funding limit | Yes |
| Loss or exposure limit | No |
| Session / elapsed-time reminder | No |
| Cool-off / trading break | No |
| Self-exclusion | Yes |
| Education / crisis-line partner | Yes (Birches Health) |
| Age verification | Yes (identity checks) |
Only two order types exist, market and limit; neither a stop order nor a good-till-cancelled option showed up anywhere. One feature genuinely stood out, though: auto-sell, which closes a position on its own the second it hits a price you’ve set in advance.

Why We Gave User Experience & Responsible Trading a 4.1 / 5
Every platform we touched, app included, ran without a hitch, and auto-sell is a real standout among the tools on offer. A three-out-of-seven tally on trader-protection tools lands squarely in “adequate,” not “exceeds expectations.”
How to Sign Up for Polymarket
Open Polymarket through our link and begin creating an account.
Using our link is what ties your new account to the $10-for-$25 trading credit offer.
Our code LINEUPS applies automatically through that link, so there's nothing to type in by hand.
Double-check the code shows before moving on, since signing up directly on Polymarket’s own site shows no welcome offer at all.
Work through identity, age, and location verification.
Have a government ID handy and keep location services on so Polymarket can confirm you’re eligible to trade where you are.
Fund the account with at least $10 to unlock the trading credit.
Card, bank transfer, Apple Pay, PayPal, and Venmo all worked in our testing, so pick whichever method suits you.
Browse live markets and check current prices before committing to a position.
Prices double as implied odds, so a contract trading at 38 cents means the market sees roughly a 38% chance it happens.
Open a position, then track it as the price moves, whether you ride it to resolution or exit early.
You can sell any time before the market settles, or set an auto-sell price to lock in a gain without watching the screen.

Polymarket Trust and Legal
Polymarket US operates under QCX LLC, a Delaware entity holding a CFTC Contract Market designation since July 9, 2026. Above it sits parent company QCL Quad Code USA Corp, while a distinct entity, QC Clearing LLC, handles the actual clearing of trades.
Back in January 2022, the CFTC reached a $1.4 million settlement with Blockratize, Inc., Polymarket’s earlier corporate form, over unregistered event contracts. A subsequent probe wrapped in 2025 with no additional penalties attached.
Funds belonging to customers sit with QC Clearing LLC specifically. Coverage under SIPC or FDIC does not extend here, something Polymarket itself never claims otherwise. The platform’s Rulebook reserves the right to amend a market’s rules after it’s already listed, and every dispute funnels into binding New York arbitration, full stop.
Across 63,000 Apple App Store reviews, the average sits at 4.5 stars; Google Play’s 14,100 reviews land at 3.8. A handful of Apple reviewers flagged withdrawal problems, something our own testing never encountered.

Final Verdict
Polymarket suits traders who want to bet across more than just sports and politics and are willing to size positions carefully in thinner markets. It’s a poor match for anyone who needs fast human support, or who assumes every market trades as smoothly as Polymarket’s flagship picks.
Polymarket Pros & Cons
Pros
- Politics, sports, crypto, and every other market we check is live, with sports depth that outruns the standard checklist
- A $25-on-$10 credit that genuinely competes, claimable only through our link

Cons
- That credit stays invisible on Polymarket’s own sign-up, our link is the only route to it
- One player-prop position gave up close to a third of its value just exiting
- Two real attempts at live-chat support, zero humans reached
