The 2026 season has reached its end, with the FedEx Cup Playoffs concluding at East Lake Golf Club for the TOUR Championship. Only 30 players remain, and they converge in Atlanta with a $20 million purse and $10 million grand prize at stake.
East Lake is one of the most underappreciated courses on the PGA Tour, and despite an expensive restoration project in 2024, its future has been put to question after the PGA Tour announced its plans to replace the TOUR Championship with a new Match Play series starting in 2028. East Lake deserves a full-field, mid-season event, and I’m hopeful we’ll see plenty more of it in the future, as this Donald Ross gem continues to pose a fair all-around test to the best players on Tour. It will require a combination of great total driving, long iron approach play, and skilled putting on nuanced Donald Ross Bermuda greens to prevail in Atlanta this week.

How I Built My TOUR Championship Betting Card
In a field of just 30 players, this is not my favorite week to bet or exploit value. With shorter odds across the board, I’ve opted for a very tight card that prioritizes well-rounded players in great current form with proven success at East Lake Golf Club. Scottie Scheffler’s Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease setback makes this feel even more open for the taking too.
From a unit allocation standpoint, I will be rolling out a card of outrights only, as the limited field looks to be devoid of value in all other markets. Match Play can’t get here soon enough!

Wyndham Clark
My Bet: +1800
Best Available Odds:
Plenty of golf analysts have drawn the conclusion that Wyndham Clark has earned the honor of PGA Tour Player of the Year with three victories including a major championship in 2026. Considering he has finished T5-1st in the first two legs of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, I’m perplexed as to why he is not a consensus top-5 favorite this week. The playoffs are all about heating up at the right time, and that is especially true at East Lake, a perfect amalgamation of the first two playoff venues, TPC Southwind and Bellerive Country Club.
In normal circumstances, we may expect a lack of focus in the week following a big PGA Tour win. That should not be the case at the TOUR Championship, however, with a giant $20M purse and long off-season looming ahead. In worse past form, Clark has excelled at East Lake, posting finishes of 3rd and 8th in his first two appearances. Considering his excellent short & long-term form, proven course history, and great course profile fit, I have no reason not to go right back to Clark in search of his fourth win of 2026.
Collin Morikawa
My Bet: +2200

In any sport, the playoffs are about heating up at the right time. Morikawa’s form, particularly from a ball-striking standpoint, is as good as it’s looked all season now, and he’ll look to end the year on a high note fresh off of a T4 showing at the BMW Championship.
As a 7,440-yard par-70, East Lake is almost identical in its dimensions to Bellerive Country Club, making this an ideal spot to continue the momentum from his strong showing in St. Louis last week. Where East Lake differs from Bellerive, however, is its steeper penalty for missed fairways, as this long Bermuda rough has proven to be especially gnarly. That places an even greater emphasis on Morikawa’s greatest strength of driving accuracy.
Morikawa’s current form is excellent, ranking top-5 in the key categories of SG: Ball Striking, SG: Approach, Driving Accuracy, Par-5 Scoring, and Comp Course History over the last 36 rounds. The course history has been great at East Lake too, with three career top-6 finishes. That includes a 2nd place result in 2024 in which he led the field in 72-hole scoring with starting strokes removed.
Chris Gotterup
My Bet: +2500

Value is a relative thing as fields dwindle down with each passing week throughout the FedEx Cup Playoffs. In totality, Gotterup has had a top-5 season on the PGA Tour this year, picking up three wins across the Sony Open, WM Phoenix Open, and John Deere Classic. Combine that with his other wins at the Myrtle Beach Classic and Genesis Scottish Open, and it becomes clear that Gotterup is not a monolith when it comes to course fits.
All told, East Lake asks many of the same questions as Bellerive Country Club. Each rewards Total Driving (a combination of distance and accuracy off-the-tee) and long-iron approach play, allowing the most skilled ball-strikers to separate. With that said, his T4 finish at the BMW Championship last week is an encouraging sign. Gotterup looked strong in his 2025 TOUR Championship debut, finishing T10 and ranking 3rd for the week in SG: Ball Striking.
