The long-awaited start to the 2026 NFL season has finally arrived, and this year’s Kickoff Game features an actual Super Bowl rematch as opposed to only the defending champion. The Patriots visit the Seahawks at Lumen Field for a first-of-its-kind Wednesday night clash in a game expected to be highly competitive.

With the stage set, let’s dive into three player prop bets worth considering for Wednesday’s season-opening showdown.

Wednesday’s Best NFL Kickoff Game Player Props

  • Drake Maye (NE) – Over Passing Yards
  • Rhamondre Stevenson (NE) – Over Receiving Yards
  • Jadarian Price (SEA) – Over Rushing Attempts

Drake Maye (NE) – Over Passing Yards

Maye famously looked out of sorts for a significant swath of last year’s Super Bowl loss to Seattle, with the Seahawks ultimately getting to him for two interceptions, six sacks and one lost fumble. It wouldn’t be far-fetched to conclude the talented and highly competitive third-year quarterback has been stewing about that performance all offseason, and thanks to the schedule makers, he’ll get an immediate chance to atone in the new season.

Maye did finish that Super Bowl defeat with 295 passing yards, although a significant amount came in the second half when New England was in desperation mode and Seattle was playing to prevent the big play. Nevertheless, Maye has a dynamic new No. 1 receiver in A.J. Brown, a talented new No. 2 in Romeo Doubs, and plenty of familiar capable targets the likes of DeMario Douglas, Mack Hollins and Hunter Henry.

Maye averaged 258.5 passing yards per game during the 2025 regular season, and he went 15-6 to the Over on the 228.5 figure when also factoring in the postseason. The Seahawks naturally boast a supremely talented secondary, but Seattle did face the league’s third-highest pass-play rate at home last regular season (60.6%) and surrendered appreciably more yards per completion at Lumen (10.3) than on the road (7.9).

Rhamondre Stevenson (NE) – Over Receiving Yards

Stevenson returns for another season of handling a sizable role in the Patriots’ ground attack, and in Week 1, he’s set to shoulder even more volume than might be the case on most weeks this season. Stevenson’s backfield mate Treveyon Henderson has been ruled out for Wednesday due to the ankle injury he suffered in late August, leaving the running game largely in the former’s hands.

The matchup against the Seahawks’ defense isn’t exactly inviting on paper when it comes to making inroads on the ground, but that could very well boost the chances of this prop hitting. Seattle surrendered only 3.5 yards per carry to running backs during the 2025 regular season, but partly because of that stinginess, the defending champs also conceded an NFL-high 97 receptions and fifth-most receiving yards (640) to the position. Stevenson exploited that schematic quirk in the Super Bowl, posting a 5-40-1 receiving line versus Seattle.

Henderson’s absence removes a major pass-catching component from the Pats’ backfield, and Stevenson is more than capable of taking on a bigger pass-catching role as evidenced by his average of 43.0 receptions and 293.0 yards over the last four seasons. Stevenson had a hit rate of exactly 50% (9-for-18) on this prop throughout last season and postseason; however, not only is he in line for the majority of RB touches Wednesday, but seven of the nine occasions he did clear the number last year came from Week 13 on.

Original Line Publish: 15.5

Jadarian Price (SEA) – Over Rushing Attempts

The No. 1 back on the other side of Wednesday’s clash is also expected to be busy, and in the case of Price, the projected heavy volume comes in the rookie’s NFL debut. Price spent his college career at Notre Dame understandably playing second fiddle to the Cardinals’ third overall pick, Jeremiyah Love, but Price’s upside shined through enough to warrant Seattle investing the 32nd overall selection in him this past April.

Price was the epitome of a starting-quality No. 2 running back in college, finishing his Fighting Irish tenure with 2,881 rushing yards (6.7 yards per carry) and 36 rushing touchdowns across 41 games. Price averaged a modest 10.6 rush attempts per contest in that span due to having Love in front of him, but with Kenneth Walker III now in Kansas City and Zach Charbonnet

(knee) on the PUP list to open the season, the rookie is due to serve as a clear-cut lead back to open the season, with George Holani filling the change-of-pace role.

The Patriots were dominated by this Seahawks’ offensive line in the Super Bowl, when Walker averaged 5.0 yards per carry on 27 carries. While Price’s workload Wednesday doesn’t figure to be anywhere close, this is projected to be a very competitive rematch where the run game should remain viable for all four quarters. A 14-carry tally is certainly reasonable for Price if he handles the overwhelming majority of early downs as expected, especially on a Seahawks squad that ran the ball at the league’s third-highest clip – 50.6% – of any team on its home field in the 2025 regular season.
