2026 World Cup Golden Glove Picks, Predictions and Analysis

One of the most attractive aspects of betting on the World Cup is the variety of markets available before and during the competition. There are a range of Futures markets that can offer a great amount of betting value.

One such market is the Golden Glove bet. A market solely focused on goalkeepers, the Golden Glove award is given to the best performing keeper, as decided by FIFA’s Technical Study Group.

When you consider your choice for Golden Glove Winner, you’re not just deciding on which goalkeeper is likely to concede the fewest goals. You’ve also got to think about which keeper has the ability to keep their teams in games, those who command their area well and who has the ability to make match-determining saves. Emiliano Martinez’s incredible save in the final moments of the 2022 World Cup Final was a huge reason why the Argentina stopper was awarded the prize as his country won their third title.

Let’s take a look at the frontrunners to win the 2026 World Cup Golden Glove with odds provided by bet365.

How is the World Cup Golden Glove Decided?

Unlike most other Futures markets, like Top Goalscorer or Team Top Goalscorer, the Golden Glove award isn’t just based on statistics. Instead, the award is decided by FIFA’s Technical Study Group, who take into consideration a number of aspects before deciding on the recipient. Along with the number of Clean Sheets a keeper earns, the Study Group also consider the following:

  • Overall Saves Made
  • Number of Important Saves Made
  • Number of Games Played
  • Overall Performance

2026 World Cup Golden Glove Favorites

There can be great value to be found in the Golden Glove Winner market. You’ll notice that amongst the favorites to win this award are goalkeepers who play for the same nation – we’re going to analyze the keepers who are most likely to be their country’s No. 1 shortly.

  • Emiliano Martinez (Argentina) +400
  • Unai Simon (Spain) +450
  • Alisson Becker (Brazil) +500
  • Ederson (Brazil) +600
  • Mike Maginan (France) +600
  • David Raya (Spain) +700
  • Jordan Pickford (England) +700
  • Diogo Costa (Portugal) +1000
  • Manuel Neuer (Germany) +1600

2026 World Cup Golden Glove Picks and Predictions

As it’s such a tough market to predict, there isn’t a huge difference in odds on the Golden Glove favorites. Generally, the favorites to win the award play for teams most likely to reach the latter stages of the 2026 World Cup. Every Golden Glove recipient has played for a side who have reached the Semi Final stage, with the exception of the first ever award won by Michel Preud’homme in 1994 whose Belgium side reached the Round of 16.

Emiliano Martinez, Argentina

Current Best Odds: +400

The winner of the 2022 World Cup Golden Glove award, it’s no surprise to see Argentina’s Emiliano Martinez amongst the favorites to win the 2026 award. The current Champions are likely to progress to the latter stages once again (in fact, they’re one of my picks to reach the World Cup Final). No stranger to making huge match-winning saves at vital moments, Martinez is also playing behind a defence that conceded just ten goals in 18 CONMEBOL qualifying matches, as well as only four in their last ten games.

Unai Simon, Spain

Current Best Odds: +450

Spain have quality throughout their 2026 World Cup squad, none more so than in their goalkeeper ranks. David Raya and Joan Garcia have enjoyed incredible seasons with their respective clubs, but Athletic Bilbao’s Unai Simon is likely to remain as his country’s Number One. In terms of potential games to be played, most sportsbooks have Spain as the favorite to win this year’s tournament. I have them to reach the Semi Final, plenty of time for Simon to impress. Just to note, if Raya does oust the Bilbao man and claims the number one spot, the Arsenal stopper has odds of +700 to win the Golden Glove.

Alisson Becker, Brazil

Current Best Odds: +500

Despite enduring an injury-hit season, Alisson made his return to Liverpool’s starting line up on the final day of the English Premier League season. He’ll be Brazil’s Number One for the 2026 World Cup. The issue here is how far Brazil will reach in this year’s tournament. While they’ve won more World Cups than any other nation, their squad lacks the overall quality of some of their rivals for the title.

Mike Maignan, France

Current Best Odds: +600

Mike Maignan has enjoyed a wonderful season with his club team AC Milan. His international side France are amongst the favorites to win the 2026 World Cup and it’s easy to see why. Their squad is packed with quality throughout and the 2022 runners-up are my pick to win this year’s tournament. Maignan will be vital to that success and odds of around +600 represent good value.

Jordan Pickford, England

Current Best Odds: +700

England is the choice of many to win the 2026 World Cup. For me, they’ll fall short but goalkeeper Jordan Pickford should play in enough games to impress. England’s defensive record is superb and Pickford has the ability to pull off wonder saves when required. His penalty save record is impressive, too.

Oliver Baumann, Germany

Current Best Odds: +1000

Hoffenheim’s Oliver Baumann is amongst the favorites to win the 2026 World Cup Golden Glove award. However, his place in Germany’s starting XI is far from assured. Manuel Neuer has been tempted back into the Germany squad for World Cup 2026. It’s reported the Bayern Munich stopper will be Germany’s Number One for the tournament, which will come as a huge disappointment to Baumann, who had been seemingly assured of being his country’s starting goalkeeper. Neuer is struggling with injury, however, but should be fit for Germany’s opening Group E fixture against Curacao.

Important Factors To Remember

  • The Golden Glove isn’t just based on clean sheets – a goalkeeper’s overall performances are taken into consideration.
  • Think about the number of matches a goalkeeper is likely to play. With the exception of the first Golden Glove award in 1994, all recipients have played for teams who have reached at least the Semi Final Stage.

2026 World Cup Golden Glove Winner Picks & Predictions

While predicting the 2026 World Cup Golden Glove Winner can be tough, our choice is France’s Mike Maignan. Heading into the World Cup in imperious form, Maignan will be vital to his side’s chances of winning this year’s edition.
