The Georgia Bulldogs start the season as the 3rd ranked team in the nation. The 2017-18 season ended in dismay for this program. They fell to Alabama in the title game, a game that the team had well within their grasps at multiple instances. This defeat primed the team for the begin of the off-season, keeping a single goal in their mind: win at all cost. The program won the off-season, bringing in the nation's top recruiting class. The new additions partnered with the returning veterans shape this roster into a health position ahead of the 2018 season.

The Bulldogs easily won the off-season before it even began. A majority of their 23 commitments signed their intent long before the team was featured in the title game. Posting even more impressive numbers is the talent the team gained. Amongst the signings, 7 come for the nation's top-25 list. This is an impressive clip considering the three top-10 grabs in Justin Fields, Zamir White, and Jamaree Salyer. White is titled as the nation's best athlete. He played both sides of the ball in high school, seeing the most promise at quarterback. Zamir White is a running back product that the team desperately needs. He was injured early in practice, but a swift return could help him claim the lead dog position in the backfield. Jamaree Salyer is one of the nation's top offensive lineman. He slides into a guard position that was flaky for the team last season. He will be afforded a starting role come the start of the season. Returning talent and replacing with seasoned back-ups is what Georgia does best. Their biggest return is starting quarterback, Jake Fromm. Fromm starts the season on the Heisman-watch list. His numbers have improved each season he has spent under center for the team. He is afforded the luxury of another training camp and additional time to improve his college game and craft. He returns two of his top targets but will be a little down without his reliable back, Nick Chubb. The team enjoyed the spread that Chubb brought to the offense. Chubb allowed Fromm to get out in space and spread the ball. Chubb did spend some time on the injury list and the team did not miss a beat, so look for the wounds to heal quickly. The addition of Justin Fields doesn't pose a threat to the play of Fromm, but it does give the offense some instances of trickery and wildcat formats. Look for Fields to be featured in this offense in some capacity. The defense has been afforded the ability to deepen the player pool. The defensive make-up is one that sees many different, unique sets. This helps place no guarantee on starting positions and helps place guys within the correct roles. When looking for consistent names to pull from for starters, you may want to try other programs. Georgia runs a methodic-style of defense, keeping their legs fresh and the stamina high. Their rotations are fast and fluent, keeping their best talents in roles that help them produce desired outcomes. This defense is deep in talent and we wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of true freshmen trot through this rotation of starters.
