Top TD Picks: Emeka Egbuka , Luther Burden III

We’re all set for a matchup of NFC teams on Week 9 Sunday Night Football between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears. Suddenly, the Bucs are back in the playoff mix after consecutive blowout wins. It helps that they play in the weakest division in football, but this is still noteworthy. Meanwhile, the Bears look like legitimate Super Bowl contenders following a road win against the Seattle Seahawks on Week 8 Monday Night Football.

This is projected to be a high-scoring game with a total of 47.5 points, but I’m on the Under. These are two good defenses, with the Bucs ranking 2nd in EPA and the Bears looking much improved after trading for stud defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. With that in mind, find out why I’m on Emeka Egbuka and Luther Burden III to score touchdowns here.

Emeka Egbuka Touchdown Odds

Emeka Egbuka has missed the last two games, but he practiced in full on Friday. Even though he’s a game-time decision for this game, I’m betting that he’ll be able to suit up. That full practice is key. If Egbuka ends up missing this game, you can pivot to Chris Godwin.

Before getting hurt, Egbuka had combined for 25 targets in two games, including 16 against the Steelers. That was with Jalon Daniels, but now Baker Mayfield is back under center. While Baker has barely had to throw in two games since returning (an insane zero yards last week), we all know what he can do.

Egbuka is the main threat for the Bucs in the red zone. Despite missing time, Egbuka leads the team with six targets inside the 20-yard-line. He had scored in consecutive games before the injury, both against the Cowboys and Steelers.

You can get Egbuka at about +200 odds at the time of this article, making him worth a look in this spot.

Luther Burden III Touchdown Odds

Luther Burden III is starting to take over as the legit WR1 for the Bears. The second-year wideout has a combined 19 catches for 281 yards and two touchdowns in his last three games. On top of that, he’s been the main weapon for the Bears in the passing game when they get inside the 20-yard-line.

Burden leads the team with 11 targets in the red zone, followed by Colston Loveland at 10. The Bucs have been tough to score rushing touchdowns against, allowing only three this season, which is second-fewest in the NFL. If that continues, it would force the Bears to the air when they get in the red zone, which bodes well for Burden.

You can get Burden to score a touchdown at around +150 odds at the time of this article, making him worth targeting in this spot. The Bears have 27-point implied total, so they’re projected to score almost four touchdowns. At the +150 price, Burden looks appealing.
