The long-awaited kickoff of the 2026 college football season has finally arrived, with an eight-game Week Zero slate serving up the first full Saturday of pigskin action. The ledger includes the Aer Lingus Football Classic in Dublin, Ireland, as well as an NC State-Virginia showdown in Charlottesville.

Saturday’s Best Week Zero College Football Player Props
- Jaden Craig (TCU) – Over Passing Yards
- Jayden Scott (NC State) – Over Rushing Yards

Jaden Craig (TCU) – Over Passing Yards
Craig won TCU’s starting job after transferring from Harvard, and he’s coming off an impressive two-season run with the Crimson where he threw for 5,299 yards with a 48:10 TD:INT across 21 games. Craig averaged 253.3 passing yards per game during that stretch, and he’s now set to thrive in an even better offensive environment on a Horned Frogs squad coming off back-to-back 9-4 campaigns.
Offensive coordinator Gordon Sammis is also new to TCU’s offensive attack, and he helped UConn to an impressive 430.2 total yards per game in 2025, good for 23rd in the FBS. That figure included 275.2 passing yards per contest (No. 17 in the country), and Craig has clearly taken to Sammis’ system well this offseason. Craig threw for over 210 yards in 16 of 21 games at Harvard over the last two seasons as well, putting this prop in play.

Jayden Scott (NC State) – Over Rushing Yards (-114) at FanDuel
After playing in just one game as a freshman in 2024, Scott, a redshirt sophomore, took a big step forward with his first real opportunity a season ago. Scott rushed for 581 yards at a highly efficient 5.5 yards per carry across 13 games last season in a rotational role. He notably recorded at least 89 rushing yards on the three occasions in which he logged double-digit rush attempts, which seemingly corroborates his ability to capitalize on a true lead-back workload when it’s afforded to him.
Scott now enters 2026 as the Wolfpack’s clear No. 1 back, which ratches up expectations for him given how well he handled expanded workloads a season ago. The opposing Cavaliers surrendered 118.9 rushing yards per game overall in 2025, but they notably gave up 130.8 per game at home. Opponents ran the ball 55% of the time against Virginia in the latter split as well, and if Scott gets the type of opportunity that figure implies, he should have a good chance to cash this prop.

Micah Alejado (HAW) – Over Passing Yards
Alejado returns as the Rainbow Warriors’ starting quarterback in 2026 after throwing for 3,106 yards with a 24:9 TD:INT over 11 games last season while completing 66.3% of his passes along the way. Alejado was particularly impressive in the Hawai’i Bowl victory against Cal on Christmas Eve, when he racked up 274 yards and three touchdowns without an interception.
Alejado could even have top receiver Pofele Ashlock back from his undisclosed injury per the latest comments from wide receivers coach Jared Ursua, given the wideout is reportedly well ahead of schedule in his recovery.
He also has a potential-laden new transfer in Audric Harris, and just as important, Alejado also has the benefit of continuity in head coach Timmy Chang’s high-powered offense. After having eclipsed 259 passing yards in seven of his first 12 college starts, Alejado’s Over is in play against a Cardinal team that allowed 340.5 passing yards per home game in 2025.
