Best Bet: U7.5 (-115) at Hard Rock Bet

Score Prediction: Dodgers 5, Braves 2

The Pick: Dodgers 5, Braves 2

We’ll stick with the Under again, hitting all three games in the series along with grand data backing the Dodgers in this market.

Game Betting Analysis

It’s hard not to stick with the Under here, hitting in all three games thus far which includes four straight meetings and five of the last six head-to-heads. Los Angeles has also hit the Under in a remarkable nine of 10 games overall, so there’s not much more to dig into for this one. With the winner markets murky based on Atlanta’s success against Los Angeles along with the current series being played out, there’s no conviction in a winner as much as there is in the total for this series.

Deciding Factor: Matt Olson’s Power vs. the Dodgers’ Championship-Caliber Pitching

Atlanta is facing elimination at Truist Park after mustering just one run in Thursday’s Game 3 loss, and the Braves’ only real path back into this series runs through the middle of their order. Matt Olson leads the team with 41 home runs, Ronald Acuña Jr. and Austin Riley give Atlanta as much lineup thump as any club left in October, and Truist Park has been rated one of the most home-run-friendly stadiums in baseball — exactly the kind of park where one mistake pitch can flip a series. The problem is who’s been on the mound: the Dodgers own the 2nd-ranked starting rotation in MLB by ERA (3.43) behind a staff fronted by Yoshinobu Yamamoto (22 quality starts, 185 innings), and that depth is precisely what limited Atlanta’s lineup to one run two nights ago.

Atlanta is reportedly turning to Tyler Mahle, a trade-deadline pickup from the Giants brought in for rotation depth rather than to be a true No. 1, for the biggest start of his season in a win-or-go-home game. He’s had his moments as a reliable mid-rotation arm down the stretch, but nothing in his résumé compares to shutting down a lineup that features Shohei Ohtani (30 home runs), Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts with the season on the line. If Olson and the middle of the Atlanta order can’t cash in early at home, Mahle is the one standing between the Dodgers and a trip to the NLCS — and that’s a tall ask against a team that’s already proven it can win low-scoring, grind-it-out games this series.
