Best Bet: O170.5 (-110) at DraftKings

Best Bet: ATL -1.5 (-110)

Score Prediction: Dream 87, Liberty 84

The Pick: Dream 87, Liberty 84

We’ll take what worked in Game 1 with the Over and Atlanta covering, carrying Game 1 data into Game 2 with Atlanta’s surge and head-to-head stats.

Game Betting Analysis

The Over seems to be the play again, as it was and hit in Game 1, while the game being inside State Farm Arena helps the case with a 6-2 O/U record inside the artist formerly known as the ‘Highlight Factory’. Atlanta has actually hit the Over in its last six playoff games inside State Farm Arena, along with three of four meetings with New York – along with six of the last nine. Atlanta covering in Game 1 also hit for us, winners of eight straight games outright while also covering those games. Atlanta has won four of six against New York while covering the spread in nine of 12 against the Liberty, too.

Deciding Factor: Atlanta’s Takeaway Surge vs. New York’s Turnover Problem

Turnovers are the swing factor in this series: Atlanta turned a close game into a rout by forcing 19 Liberty giveaways and outscoring New York 32-15 in the third quarter alone, with Jordin Canada (25 points, 5 steals) and Angel Reese (17 points, 4 steals) combining for the bulk of that takeaway surge. Sabrina Ionescu (27 points) and Jonquel Jones (12 points, 11 rebounds, 5 blocks) gave the Liberty enough to cut the deficit to five late, but New York’s own 21 turnovers undid whatever offense they generated, and Breanna Stewart’s inefficient 19-point night didn’t help. The bigger swing for Game 2 might be personnel rather than execution: Allisha Gray, limited to 7 points in 11 minutes after a second-quarter hand injury, has been ruled out entirely — yet Atlanta barely needed her in Game 1, going 8-0 since trade addition DeWanna Bonner (23 points, 9 rebounds off the bench) joined the rotation in August. Unless New York cleans up the ball security and gets a full game out of Stewart, Atlanta’s depth without Gray may be enough to put this series firmly in their control.
