The PGA Tour’s Fall Series continues on, as many of the PGA Tour’s best head across the globe to Japan for the 2026 Baycurrent Classic at Yokohama Country Club. A limited field of just 72 players will converge, each eager to jockey for position and secure status for the upcoming 2027 PGA Tour season.
Subbing in for Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club last year, we have only four rounds of ShotLink-less data to glean from at Yokohama Country Club this week. A leaderboard that featured Xander Schauffele, Max Greyserman, and Michael Thorbjornsen on the final podium does suggest that top-tier ball-striking and driving distance are distinctly advantageous here. That is the profile I’ll be looking for in search of this week’s best value plays.
In this article, we’ll look for diamonds in the rough ahead of the 2026 Baycurrent Classic.
Baycurrent Classic Odds
Yokohama Country Club Course Introduction
Yokohama Country Club will get its second crack at hosting the Baycurrent Classic this year, taking over for Accordia Golf Narashino, which hosted this event (formerly the ZOZO Championship) from 2020 to 2024. Following years at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club, the event transitioned to Yokohama’s premier 36-hole facility, offering a distinct new test. With four guaranteed rounds of action and top-heavy talent mixed alongside Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO) qualifiers, it will take a combination of elite ball-striking and driving distance to contend at this new venue.
Yokohama Country Club is a par-71 playing to 7,322 yards on the scorecard with a unique mix of three par-3s, two par-5s, and 13 par-4s. It includes a stretch of eight consecutive par-4s (holes 8-15), and there are no par-5s after the 6th hole. That creates a need for patience, as there are very few easy breather holes, especially on the back nine.
Yokohama Country Club presents a traditional Japanese Parkland layout originally designed by Takeo Aiyama in 1960. The routing for this week uses a composite setup consisting of 16 holes from the West Course and two holes from the East Course. The West layout underwent a major 2016 renovation by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, demonstrating their signature minimalist philosophy.

Baycurrent Classic Golf DFS Picks & Longshot Bets
To identify “value” any given week on the PGA Tour, I find it’s best first to understand the consensus key stat profile. Then, take a stance on the elements of the tournament that may go overlooked. At the Baycurrent Classic, Recent Form, SG: APP, and Birdies or Better Gained are consensus key areas factored into each player’s price.
From a golf DFS picks perspective, I will take a stance primarily on the importance of Driving Distance, Comp Course History, and SG: Ball Striking. Yokohama is not the longest course on Tour, and won’t rule out short hitters from contending. But with generous fairways, it proved in 2025 to be most advantageous for those with the most distance off the tee to access these pin locations from the fairway with a wedge in hand. With that in mind, I’m looking to build my player pool around in-form ball-strikers who have proven success attacking driver-heavy courses of a similar yardage.
Below, find my favorite value PGA golf fantasy picks and longshots for the 2026 Baycurrent Classic. Stats pulled across the Last 36 Rounds unless otherwise noted. Their odds of winning the event are also shown.
Max Greyserman
It can be a shock to the system battling jet lag and a new travel routine for these cross-globe events. And while that may not be for everyone, Greyserman has clearly proven he doesn’t mind teeing it up on the other side of the world. He’s first in this field in Event History with runner-up finishes at each of the last two Baycurrent Classics.
It’s been a volatile season for Greyserman, but his good moments have been great. He finished T10 two starts ago at the Biltmore Championship Asheville to kick off the Fall Series, which marked his third too-15 finish over his last 12 starts. Greyserman is a strong profile fit for Yokohama, given his distance off the tee, and is skilled enough with the putter to go low anywhere in the world.
Nico Echavarria
The form has not been fantastic lately, but Nico comes to Japan battle-tested after a tightly contested Presidents Cup. When we come to events on the either side of the world, I need to know that a player is comfortable with the time zone change, and there’s no doubt about Echavarria there. He went toe-to-toe with Justin Thomas at this event two years ago and did not buckle under pressure. We saw that same resolve under pressure down the stretch at the Cognizant Classic earlier this season too, so I have confidence Echavarria can elevate his game over the weekend if he keeps himself in the mix.
Like Greyserman, Nico has looked volatile in 2026, with plenty of great results sprinkled in-between the mediocre ones. He ended the regular season well with T12 finishes at the Wyndham Championship and FedEx St Jude Championship. In addition to his 2024 win, Nico looks just as comfortable a year later, finishing 9th in his first visit to Yokohama Country Club.
Kevin Roy
The weekend was not kind to Kevin Roy in Utah last week, as a perfect 16-under-par start at the Bank of Utah Championship fizzled into a modest T32 finish by week’s end. That inability to step on the gas while in contention gives me pause to back Roy in the outright market, but I believe he is a very viable option for a top-20 placement given his overall form and course fit.
Roy profiles as a strong ball-striker with above-average distance and spike approach upside. That’s a perfect profile to attack Yokohama Country Club, and he showed some encouraging signs of that fit here last year, where he finished T40 in far worse preceding form. This week, Roy enters amidst a streak of five straight top-32 finishes, and at 88th in the FedEx Cup standings, he’ll have a great opportunity in front of him to push inside the coveted top-70.
Matt McCarty
Quietly solidifying himself inside the FedEx Cup top-50 in points this season, McCarty is a very underrated talent on the PGA Tour, leaning on his strength of driving accuracy, putting skill, and spike approach upside. Given the longterm pedigree which includes four top-12 finishes this season, I don’t believe McCarty belongs this far down the odds board.
He’s have some pretty good memories in his return to Yokohama, as he shot 60 in his final round, needing a par on his last hole to join the prestigious 59 club. Birdies are not the easiest to come by on this composite course set up that features only two par-5s, so McCarty carries appealing top-20 upside as he looks to build on an active streak of five consecutive made cuts.
