Jahmyr Gibbs First Half Touchdown Odds
Gibbs standard TD scorer prop unsurprisingly carries odds that are essentially untenable, given the extremely high probability the superstar back makes at least one trip to the end zone. Therefore, if we still want to capitalize on Gibbs’ nose for the end zone, we’re going to narrow things down a bit more and hone in the first half of Thursday night’s game. The Lions took a while to get going in Week 1, but Detroit finished with 31 points in its overtime victory against the Saints and Gibbs actually hit the ground running from the first quarter.
Gibbs finished with 156 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns, while adding 30 receiving yards on five receptions. Four days later, Gibbs is tangling with a Bills defense that already gave up an NFL-high 18 rushing touchdowns in 2025, and then opened the new season by surrendering three total touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving) to the Texans’ David Montgomery in his Houston debut. Gibbs also averaged more than a touchdown per game during the 2025 regular season (18 in 17 games), and Detroit is projected for just under 25 points in Thursday’s game.
Finally, it’s worth noting the Bills allowed 21 first-half points to the Texans in Week 1, and Buffalo also conceded the seventh-most first-half points per home game in 2025 (13.0).

Lions vs. Bills Anytime Touchdown Picks
James Cook Over Receiving Yards
While the Bills did rack up 36 points in their season-opening victory over the Texans, Cook was largely left out of the fun. The star running back rushed for 57 yards on 13 carries, and he added three receptions for 12 yards on four targets. While the numbers were mostly pedestrian, one encouraging takeaway was Cook’s involvement in the passing game in Joe Brady’s first game as head coach. Cook was mostly bottled up after the catch by a speedy Houston defense, but the speedy back naturally has the upside to blow past this very modest 15.5 receiving yardage figure.
A season ago, Cook posted 17 receiving yards or more in eight of 19 regular-season and postseason games with Brady calling the plays. The Lions were a legitimately stingy defense against the run on most weeks last season, and Detroit also held Saints running backs to 3.6 yards per carry in Week 1. However, the Lions conceded an elevated 7-32-0 line on nine targets to Travis Etienne in that game, and a season ago, Detroit gave up 24.6 receiving yards per game to running backs. With Brady very likely focused on getting Cook going Thursday in a game where it’s expected the Bills will have to remain aggressive, this prop is very much in play.

Lions vs. Bills DFS Picks & Value Plays
Jared Goff Under Passing Yards
After making a case for offensive success in our first two props, we’re pivoting a bit with Goff, who opened the new season with a modest 206 passing yards in the overtime win against the Saints. A season ago, Goff averaged just above this prop — 268.5 — but he actually went just 8-9 to the Over on the 265.5, and only three of the instances in which he eclipsed the figure came on the road. In fact, Goff averaged just 233.0 passing yards per contest in the first seven contests of the season, and 258.8 per road contest overall in 2025.
The more subdued passing numbers on the road are an extension of Goff’s overall time in Detroit, one where he’s typically been more prolific in the friendly confines of Ford Field. In 2024, Goff averaged 260.9 passing yards per road game, and that was preceded by figures of 260.8 (2023), 245.8 (2022) and 224.2 (2021) in that split. The Bills did allow 274 passing yards to the Texans’ C.J. Stroud in Week 1, but that came on 38 pass attempts. Additionally, Buffalo gave up a minuscule 171.6 passing yards per home game on a very modest 6.0 yards per attempt in 2025, while also facilitating a stingy 60.5 percent completion rate.
