We had another profitable night on Tuesday, hitting on Fernando Tatis Jr. to make up for the miss on Austin Riley. The Red Sox game was postponed, so Wilyer Abreu was void.

Today, we’re going with Wyatt Langford, Mookie Betts, and Chase DeLauter. I like the spots for each of these hitters.

Home Run Prop Predictions & Odds: MLB HR Best Bets for Wednesday, July 22

Wyatt Langford Home Run Odds

Wyatt Langford is currently slashing .286/.330/.518 with 11 home runs in 212 plate appearances. He’s been absolutely mashing in July, slashing .324/.359/.595 with three home runs. This includes two homers in his last three games, so he’s coming in hot.

You have to like how Langford has trimmed his strikeout rate from 26.4% to 21.2% this season. This is a 24-year-old outfielder who is blossoming into one of the best hitters in baseball, slowly but surely.

Up next is a matchup against White Sox left-hander Anthony Kay, who has a 5.33 xERA and a 1.25 HR/9 this season. Langford has performed well against lefties this season, putting up a .271 ISO.

With that in mind, we’ll take Langford to hit No. 12 in this spot. Risk 0.1 units.

Mookie Betts Home Run Odds

Mookie Betts is currently slashing .234/.296/.426 with 13 home runs in 280 plate appearances. It’s been an underwhelming year so far, but at least he’s found his power stroke, as he’s only seven homers away from last year’s total despite 383 fewer plate appearances.

We’ve also seen Betts improve his barrel rate from 5.5% to 8.5%, which is an encouraging sign.

Betts went 4-for-5 with two homers on July 20th, so he’s coming in hot for this upcoming matchup against Phillies’ right-hander Aaron Nola, who has a 4.20 xERA and a 2.01 HR/9 on the season. Facing a pitcher with such an issue with the long ball is exactly what you’re looking for in a home run prop.

Add in the fact that this game is at Citizens Bank Park, which is a hitter-friendly environment, and you can see why I’m riding with Betts to hit No. 14 in this spot. Risk 0.1 units.

Chase DeLauter Home Run Odds

Chase DeLauter is currently slashing .288/.353/.458 with 11 home runs in 354 plate appearances. He’s got an impressive 13.6% strikeout rate, showing advanced plate discipline despite being in his age-24 season.

The Guardians’ outfielder has been relatively hot at the plate, homering four times in his last 12 games. That’s good news for tonight’s exploitable matchup against Twins’ right-hander Bailey Ober, who has a 4.27 xERA and a 1.52 HR/9 on the season.

So, here we have a young hitter who has found his power stroke of late, facing a pitcher who has issues giving up home runs.

That’s the type of combination we’re looking for in a home run prop, so let’s ride with DeLauter here. Risk 0.1 units.
