Training camps and preseason are in the books, and the NBA tips off Tuesday with a unique three-game slate that starts with a mid-afternoon Celtics-Pistons showdown at Little Caesars Arena and also features the new-look 76ers against the defending champion Knicks and a Thunder-Spurs WCF rematch.

Without further ado, let’s break down a trio of appealing player props to focus on for Opening Day/Night. Be sure to check out the NBA betting trends page for odds, data and insights on every game.
Best NBA Tuesday Props
- Jayson Tatum Over 8.5 Rebounds
- LeBron James Over 22.5 Points + Rebounds
- Victor Wembanyama Under 37.5 Points + Rebounds
Jayson Tatum (Celtics vs. Pistons) Over Rebounds
It’s the dawning of a new era in Boston beginning with Tuesday’s game, as Tatum will be taking the floor without his long-time running mate Jaylen Brown, who’ll be making his 76ers regular-season debut later in the evening. Tatum does have Paul George alongside him on the wing now, but at age 36 and with a long injury history, his usage isn’t likely to approximate that of Brown’s on many nights.
Jordan Walsh is set to open the season as Boston’s power forward while Tatum slides to the three, an indication of a thinner Boston starting five than in season’s past. That should result in plenty of extra opportunity for Tatum to rack up stats over the course of the season, but for the purposes of a tough season-opening matchup against the Pistons, we’ll focus on Tatum’s rebounds.
JT should see plenty of Ausar Thompson on defense Tuesday, so we’ll steer clear of his offensive props this time around. However, his rebounds prop is another matter, especially considering how many misses the Pistons can typically force. Tatum averaged a career-high 9.5 defensive rebounds per contest a season ago, and Detroit conceded Eastern Conference-low 43.8 percent shooting at home last season and posteason. He also pulled down at least nine boards in 15 of 22 regular-season and postseason games in 2025-26, furthering the case.

LeBron James (76ers vs. Knicks) Over Points + Rebounds
While there will naturally be a spotlight on the defending champion Knicks on Tuesday night, the 76ers aren’t exactly a ho-hum season-opening opponent. With Philadelphia making major offseason moves in the form of LeBron and Brown, expectations are also sky high for the Sixers. One of the more intriguing aspects of the new-look squad is LeBron and how exactly he’ll fit into what is already a star-studded starting five.
While it’s widely expected James will continue serving in much more of a complementary role akin to what he often played with the Lakers last season when Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves were healthy. Nevertheless, this is a particularly achievable points + rebounds number for James, who averaged 27.0 points + rebounds during the regular season in Los Angeles in 2025-26, including 25.6 points + rebounds per 36 minutes when sharing the floor with Luka and Reaves.
James also had 27 points + rebounds across 35 minutes in his one meeting with the Knicks last season, and if he’s out there for at least 30-32 minutes Tuesday, he should have a viable path to the Over.

Victor Wembanyama (Spurs vs. Thunder) Under Points + Rebounds
While we’re targeting the Over with our first two stars, we’re taking an opposite tack with Wemby despite his own vast talent. The superstar center is certainly in line for another dominant season, but the Thunder will typically serve as one of his toughest matchups during the regular season. Not only is OKC’s overall defensive talent very impressive despite the departure of Luguentz Dort, but the Thunder naturally has plenty of experience defending Wemby at this point of his career.
During last spring’s Western Conference Finals, Wembanyama did average 38.2 points + rebounds per game, but it took an outlier of a 41-point, 24-rebound in Game 1 to get him there. After that game, Wemby was at 33.7 points + rebounds for the remainder of the series, and during the regular season, he delivered just 27.6 points + rebounds in five games against the Thunder while going 0-5 to the Over on this prop.
Wembanyama was also just under this prop at home last regular season and postseason (36.9), and the Thunder conceded the fourth-fewest points per game to centers (20.1), along with the fourth-lowest offensive efficiency rating to the position (28.2).
